Matt whats the M25 gonna be like around 7-8 pm on the Friday of course ??
or anyone got any ideas ??

MattADH 06-06-2008 12:54 PM

From this map, you can see that there are two entrances to Hawksbrook Lane.
They are connected but there are barriers to stop access to the schools from the entrance off Red Lodge Road/Wickham Way.

You can only get in from the entrance off South Eden Park Road (B230).

I think you will be on the tail-end of the traffic at that time. As stated before, as long as there are not accidents, etc, the traffic will be heavy but should flow...

Will you be M1 - M25 Paul?

yeah as im in Leicester im coming on at Jct 21 of the M1

MattADH 06-06-2008 01:23 PM

As Andy says, the bottom of the M1 can be pants from J9 down to the M25 as the road works are causing issues with people joining the motorway at J8.

I normally get to J9 about 6.30 at night and generally it has been better near Hemel Hempstead as they are changing the priorities, etc.

Lee 06-06-2008 01:47 PM

290 mile for me, three mile further than taly, i managed to get home in 4 hours from there though:blush:

I would reccommend the a1, a14, m11 route as well, they are all pretty good roads:thumbsup:

David Church 06-06-2008 02:27 PM

Two minutes walk from Eden Park as we do have a couple of racers that rely on the trains to race. For those of you wanting to head into London, the line out of the Station goes into Charing Cross and takes about 35 minutes.

Dave,

You need to aim this question straight to the BRCA, either Paul or Jacquie (sp?). Their email/phone numbers are on the BRCA site.

Dan

Thanks Dan, email on its way, fingers crossed

I believe that the bar will be open from midday on Friday so you wont have to stagger far to your camper!!!

Of course this will be confirmed nearer the time by either Brookie or myself.

There are toilets on site and we should have access to the changing rooms and showers. The toilets will be open all day but for the people staying trackside overnight, there will be a portable toilet located in the camping area.

Please be aware that the venue makes most of ts money from football and the showers/changing rooms reflect this  But we are going to make sure that the facilities are as clean and tidy as possible.

It appears that the sports club are going to do the catering which will be in the main building - again this will be confirmed.

If you are wondering about other food places, there is a convenience store, petrol station, pub, kebab house, cafe and more all within five minutes walk and very easy to find.

There is a Sainsbury's in West Wickham that is less five minutes drive away.

Should anyone need further info or directions, please do not hesitate to ask on this site (or PM) or come the meetings, I will be trackside from when you arrive Friday...

Open class at SE 2WD Regional - 15 June

Just to let you know that we will be running an open class alongside the 2WD regional that is being hosted by EPR next Sunday. I understand that it clashes with some other events but that unfortunately cannot be helped.

I know of a few from the Midands and North that are planning a visit. If anyone wants to have a practice and intends on competing, please can they drop me their details to [email protected] so I can save us all time on Sunday.

If you want to know more details about how we will run the meeting and timetable, just ask!

Spencer Mulcahy 09-06-2008 09:47 AM

Someone told me yesterday that I could be charged to get to the track. Not the conjestion charge but a green charge and if you ring in advance the charge is reduced can someone confirm if this is true or not cheers.

MattADH 09-06-2008 01:44 PM

Emissions

Hi Spencer

There is a low-emissions zone that comes into force about a mile or two once you have gone onto the A21. This is designed for older trucks and lorries.

I believe that currently, all cars are exempt.

Is this what you were told about?

Spencer Mulcahy 09-06-2008 02:45 PM

Cheers Matt that sounds like it could be it I will investigate further and post my findings.

IceMike 09-06-2008 02:49 PM

Spencer Mulcahy 09-06-2008 03:01 PM

Beat me to it Ian it is in the zone but you will only be affected if you are driving a Mac White.

JJC 11-06-2008 01:53 PM

Are spectators welcome? I used to race quite regularly at EPO in the early to mid ninties and quite fancy popping up for a look.
Will parking be an issue at the sports club?

Lee 11-06-2008 01:58 PM

Spectators are always welcome.

I imagine there should be sufficient space. I would imagine the football and rugby seasons are over now :)

jimmy 11-06-2008 02:00 PM

what the heck

http://www.tfl.gov.uk/assets/images/.../lez-title.gif

I'm racing both days at epr, should be a laugh

MattADH 11-06-2008 02:09 PM

Yes of course we welcome spectators and former racers who may be tempted back. There is plenty of viewing space round most of the three open sides of the track, two of which feature Astroturf so if it is a little damp, there shouldn't be too much mud!

David Church 12-06-2008 07:14 PM

2 weeks till the EPR National, and there is a race this Sunday the 15th!!!

It's your last chance to get a run before the big weekend!!!!

So who's coming??? I will be there for sure getting last min track time:thumbsup:

Belsten 14-06-2008 11:15 PM

Is there anyone thats entered and not going and yet to cancel ? Im 5th reserve at the mo

Spencer Mulcahy 15-06-2008 09:11 PM

If the petrol prices carry on going up there may be alot from up north not coming or if there are any more strikes. I will be OK working for the NHS, last time I could jump the Qs at the petrol stations got some nasty looks by people in the Qs though.

I hope the prices dont go up!!!!!

I am hoping to see a full entry at my local track:thumbsup:

MattADH 17-06-2008 08:41 AM

Yes lets hope that we are not affected by the current financial climate...

Its ten years since the venue hosted a national and it was wet for one day I think - cant remember as I was having a break from RC at the time.

We have had bad experiences of low turnouts in the past (British GP) and it is so frustrating for the organising club and members. The site of a marquee capable of holding 120+ drivers with mains power for all looking half empty is terrible....

Anyway, not long to go now. I am sure that many of you out there have been or are in the smae position as me - waking up in the morning with your brain working overtime, thinking that I must do that job, dont forget this, contact them...

Roll on Monday 30th and back to work for a nice rest!

millzy 17-06-2008 09:38 AM

im 3th resurve after the update email from PW

still might pop up as i sounds a good event and id like to see the track

MattADH 17-06-2008 09:47 AM

Chris - you saw the added attraction of the on-site bar?

No brainer I guess.... :)

Swiss 17-06-2008 09:58 AM

Got to say, attended a few meetings at EPO over the winter, and was there for their Regional on Sunday, (4wd Open)... And all i can say is awesome, the track has everyhting jumps, technical sections etc....

And it is really nice to see all that money that DC scrounged, (only kidding Dave..) of us over the winter has clearly been put too good use with the track looking better and better.....

Can't wait :)

P
