My 1st visit to TORCH and 1st off-road meeting and what a day. Proper smile on my face and awesome racing in the finals (3rd in the C for me). Superbly run meeting/club with lots of good banter and no toys out of prams. Top stuff.
To quote arnie "i'll be back" for sure.

Cheers all involved.

Love the big jumps, easy with 4wd. Leave them in.

Looking at changing the track for the next regional so might tweak a few jumps to make a little easier, unless drivers like them as they r?

Jumps are great once I decided to get rid of alot of guerney on the rear wing. I found in 2wd the way to attack it was to come at it full power from the corner and let the power off as you come up the up ramp and the 210 flew fine. Bit harder with the 410 but very do able and very satisfying to get right!

RobW 18-06-2012 07:55 AM

Keep the big jumps - I still struggle to jump them consistently but if we take them out I'll never learn and I am a slow learner:blush:

Still hate the sleeping policeman speed hump just before the haripin before the big jumps - I'd very happily take a can of fuel and some marches to that.

Great meeting yesterday - I'd half forgotten just how good our track is - some really good racing across the finals.

I'll echo everyone else's comments... had an epic day at a great track with great peoplea
. Good banter with Pip, James and all, plus it was good to chat the Dorset mob, hope to see you all again soon.

Have to say the track really is the nuts now, love the big jumps. I think it was only the gusty conditions that were causing problems yesterday.

Also have to comment on the Juniors... really good to see them racing and definitly improving!

mikeyscott 18-06-2012 09:34 AM

Have to agree great racing and finals were brilliant.

Gutted crosswinds caused me issues in leg 1, but that's racing.

A few more tweaks and fs2 should be even better, struggling with getting it to rotate.

Hi Mike

Any idea how long that will take? Will previous meetings be put up too?

Cheers

I'd love to see a rolling Quad like the worlds one, or like the motorcross guys do. I do also like the jumps that are there:thumbsup:

Have to agree with Rob, if the sleeping policeman was removed it would then also make the following double/table top easier due to the cleaner run up ..... win win ??

Thanks for asking tony. Complications at the hospital meant I sat in hospital all day without anything happening, now rescheduled for friday AM. Aaanyyyyywaaaay, as you may or may not know, i've just started learning helicoptors, THE hardest form of Rc.

Alas, 450 size heli with carbon rotors + sudden gust of strong wind + right hand to protect myself = smashed up digits in four places

Hope to see you all soon. Missing you guys.

Briangb 21-06-2012 07:52 AM

Hi Lionel. Ouch!! Makes being hit in the shin when marshalling very tame.
Wondered where you had been. Do you have any fingers left. Suppose that put you off work as well? Had a friend with a pallet business who managed to chop a few fingers off one day. It was a long recovery unfortunately. He did say that the advantage was that when he went to the loo he had fewer fingers to piss on. True story.
Anyway, mate, hope everything goes well for you. Look forward to seeing you soon.

AmiSMB 21-06-2012 08:08 AM

Hope the op goes well Lionel! It is nasty when the heli is magnetically attracted to all objects around especially yourself!

hotrodchris 21-06-2012 03:18 PM

Maybe that's why mine is still sat on top of the wardrobe!
Seen people nearly slice their fingers off hand starting planes!
Not good, so far with both 1/10th and 1/8th RC cars I have only burnt myself and stuck my fingers together whilst glueing tyres up!
Best of luck see you soon Lionel

wylie 21-06-2012 09:45 PM

Sorry to hear of your terrible injuries, hope all go's well for you.
At least you can stop playing with yourself for a few weeks
