Traded that shell for a Mr Lexan 94 tray and body Franki, i wanted shot of it as it reminded me of the stinging i got from the deal on this car when i recieved it lol, but, that cloud had a silver lining in the end!
lee |
Ooohhh that bad?
|
Not great, but thats in the past, ive one hell of a YZ now, its cost me a wedge, but i got what i wanted in the end.
lee |
yes thats the main thing, i have decided that i am going to run mine !!!!! :o:o:o
so don't think ill be sending as much as you for original stuff !! going to spend more on spares back up and ill go for lexan wing etc see how it pans out |
im also interested to know if any parts swap with more up to date and simpler parts to get hold of? that way i can keep the original stuff safe and run other bits ???
|
Cant think of any parts that will interchange mate, its a pretty specific beast.
Your diffs are one to baby, spares are rare, i think youll have no worries wirh diff balls, but the main races, and thrust races are rocking horse poop. The screws do snap too, but id bet you can remedy that with an M2 cap head, and put your own locking kink in it. Just buy the toughened screws though, not the cheapie stainless. Everything else, is a case of trawling Ebay daily and try pick up a deal, a lot of 94 parts get snapped up quick, but a short few months got me a nice tidy collection of NIP parts, so it is doable, just takes time. lee |
Diff parts, slipper I think are interchangable from yr4m2 sp..
http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=28495 So for some parts you may be able to swap around a little? Quote:

Was sorting out bits and bobs the other day, laid this out on the table, got a fair bit now, 'scuse the pic, only had my phone to hand.
lee http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...hee/spread.png The start of my install. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...ee/install.png Cells, picked these up, i think £30 for both, sealed, just need to find the time to build them, the V max are sitting in the car for now. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...phee/cells.png Gratuitious sexy angle. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...e/lowangle.png lee |
OMG !!!!!!!

Love it!
That Novak 410 brings back memories, always wanted one in my RC10 but ended up with a Hammer Pro back in the day. Excellent looking YZ10. Dan |
Thanks guys, doubt ill run her now lol, its a tough decision, its a new car now, a fortune spent, we'll see maybe next Summer lol.
The 410 Dan, is just a placeholder, till i can get a mint or even new Atom or Cyclone, but im in no rush, ill find one when im ready lol. lee |

Ooh a new one just for you Lee! Buy buy buy!! (I won't, I promise!)
|
Is the red shell that came with it a recent one? Colour scheme is similar to what Matt Needham used to run..
|
Dan, not at that price mate, ive seen perfect cond ones in the US go for £50, thats a little overboard, but ive sent him an offer for a laugh lol.
James the red shell that came with it was based more on Rory Culls design i believe, in any case, that shell went off to the US a while back, traded it as the paint was cracking badly and another fella really wanted it! lee |
It is a bit on high side hence why my money still in my pocket !!!!
|
Yeah, im trying to be mean now Franki, my YZ has maybe cost me over £500 adding all the new parts, intially getting led down the garden path added to that though, so im being cheap on a Cyclone, im not too fussed though, the 410 will serve me well, i was happier to get decent matched 2400 cells brand new TBH.

A top, top bloke (THANKS DAN) sent me these repro vintage BRCA number decals the other day, all he asked in return, a few pics of the outcome, cant say no to that eh?
A few bubbles, and they are not spot on to the mm in place, but i love them, they finish off my loose Masami tribute well, though just how Dan got hold of all the right decals for his build....well, Dan, you must have a pretty tricked out Delorean buddy :) Should have a bit more of an update soon, as i managed to bag a Cyclone, and pit wizard, in stunning nick, to add to this build. bests.......lee http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...psb3f965ac.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...pscbd0af98.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...psa4a600be.jpg |
The wait paid off, bagged this pair for silly money, i do mean silly too.
Both boxed, mint, and with all paperwork, the wizard even has its decal sheet, minus only two decals......top man Mr Postman! lee http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...ps1669652f.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...psbaa50ab3.jpg |
That look hot! Will you install this now on your YZ10?
|
Yup, this is going in my YZ10 buddy, and my Atom will power the Dynastorm.
Ill have a spare 410 M5 thats in my Yoke now, not sure what to do with that, possibly throw it in the Optima for ballast. lee |
That is proper nice. "Well Jell" :)
|
Cheers Edd, though i think you'll have a fine one soon mate! Going to try find time to mount the Cyclone this weekend!
lee |
Lads I have still got my boxed (used) Cyclone and like new Pit Wizard with PC data link if anyone is after any of it! Just sat in a drawer at my folks house.
D :) |
Dan hey, have you tried Ebay? they do seem to shift on there, and, many US sellers (a big percentage of used Novak sales) wont ship to the UK too, could help?
Saw your K1 the other day, wow, nice, id have pounced TBH but bought a TRF511 a week before, to my dismay......just wanted a comp 4WD for some fun. lee |

Finally found time to install the Cyclone in her, did as neat a job as i can muster, cap is mounted via small gauge wiring to keep thing neat.
Will build a couple of packs soon, and true up my foams, as this baby will be run soon at a local indoor track, i need to go back in time  Oh, managed to bag a brand new pink Yokomo wing on Ebay too, from a top RC10talk member......really happy about that, didn't cost me a wad either, so i can take this current one off, just makes things a little more as they should be.......O.........CEE DEEEEEEEE :p http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...psc394303f.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...ps31dad9a8.jpg |
Very nice job mate
|
Get someone to take some video for us of it running Lee
|
Hi Lee,nice restore, your car using the one-way adapter? why the main shaft color in black. I think yokomo TCS torque controller system is better
|
Dan, ill see what i can do buddy, itll be a few weeks till i get to that stage as ive a StarWars model Exhibit to sort out for, showing some of my replicas at a gig in Leicester, so its a busy time hobby wise.
lllyf, Iam running the one way adaptor yes, the black shaft, no clue, its how the NIP parts arrived....i do have a nice TCS....opting not to use it for carpet racing, though it does need a new end clamp. lee |
Ain`t a Clyclone a bit `modern` for a YZ10 94` resto?
