In theory there is no reason why booking in shouldn't close at 6:00/6:15 and racing start at 6:30 on the dot giving 4 full hours of racing, but in practice there are never enough bodies helping and people turn up late that hold things up.

how goes it col:thumbsup:i reckon i'll be coming up tonight:thumbsup:i'll be there to help out with track:)

darryl 12-04-2008 09:02 AM

like col says, its the setting up that slows us down,i see alot of people sitting at there pit table twiddlin there thumbs when they could be helping to build the track, i know its a daunting task to some about building a track but those who do build it learnt off the more experienced guys, so we all had to start some where, the general rule now is to get those extra races in is to put computer on timer which im sure col will implememt tonight????, im not there myself so you wont hear my voice over the speakers:p, but please york memebers lets all get stuck in layin and tidyin up afterwards then (ben) your night wont be as long
thanks
darryl

I agree, it would a lot easier if people were there early. but it is a bit unfair telling them they cannot race just because we started earlier than normal. Why not tell everyone ,when they book in tonight, that you want them there for 5.30 next week as booking in will close at 6-6.15, and announce it on the mic at times during the night because that way people have non excuses and everybody will pass that info on etc.

i come up from hull, which is an hours drive:woot:so always get there to asist in getting track out/setting up:)must admit i shoot off stright after racing:pbut i do get stuck in as i have stated before hand:pany how looking forward to tonight:thumbsup:who else is racing mod 2wd:confused:

ohhh sorry col i didnt know we had the hall from a certain time. So if ya want then col. Ill set the computer up when i get their. If you dont mind booking people in. If we limit practice to 15 minute then that will save some time................. please can we think about having an outdoor track lol. Would be much easier .

Matt - this is not earlier than normal, it's just that no-one has ever enforced it which has limited how much racing can be done. No disrespect to Phil, but surely people can see how much more gets done quicker when I'm there (not gettin' too big headed am I?;))

Ben, who is bringing the trailer tonight?

ben 12-04-2008 11:08 AM

erm. Im not sure because mike cockerill is the only one who has the rotor. I definatley agree with you their col. I think the first time i ran it we finished earlier and still had 2 legged finals.

The rotor could maybe be put on the website?

Col 12-04-2008 11:28 AM

Didn't realise there was a rota!

ben 12-04-2008 11:36 AM

Yeh it just has who's running the computer and who is bringing and taking the trailor. :)

racdeaf 12-04-2008 11:52 AM

guys.. could u give me the school address please
cheer

racdeaf 12-04-2008 12:02 PM

is this the correct address as i just found it
huntington school
huntington road
YO32 9WT

mattym0310 12-04-2008 12:16 PM

Col, the point i was trying to make is that hardly anyone gets there at 5.30, people turn up between 6 and 7 which is too late! People need to be told to get there earlier otherwise we won't get as much racing in and it will always stay the same few people setting up the track each week! and also the earlier we finish, the more of us will stay to help pack away at the end. Like ben said if practice is shorter then this will also give us more time.

Yeah, that is the correct adress i think

racdeaf 12-04-2008 12:32 PM

i will pop down and give ya a hand when i get there at least i can help

Medders 12-04-2008 12:40 PM

The risk is that in trying to get more racing in, this ends up being more racing for the few and less for the many, as some people won't be able to make an earlier start - certainly without advance warning. Scrapping practice alltogther if there is an extra round could help.

Once the outdoor season & regionals etc have kicked in fully there'll be less people anyway so an extra round is easy then.
