Confirmation emails have been sent to everyone that has entered to date, give them a little bit of time to come through. Check details sent to you are correct. Same details are available in the results section of www.sorcinfo.org
For those that do not have BRCA membership yet, I can sort that out if you send me the correct BRCA number, or just show me your 2012 card on the day when you book in. For those that still require to join the BRCA I will do that when you book in. |
Bruce's models received full shipment of Mini Spikes today, everything in stock ready for weekend.
Also received new style cut staggered ribs, plus foam inserts. |
Track is down ready for tomorrow, straight has been finished to make it smoother.
Looking at weather forecast we should be dry for most of tomorrow, heat anyway, and then some light showers potentially during finals. |

Well, that the series started officially now, round 1 is over, very good racing all days, some excellent tussles.
Two worthy winners, James Collins in 2wd, and David Smith in 2wd. After all the rain we had had the previous week, we actually had a dry days racing, the track was still wet and slippy, but the additional astroturf section on the straight meant there was approx 60% astro turf used for the racing surface. What I would like to see improve for future rounds is driver etiquette, accidents happen, but when you gain track position you should really wait until the victim is back in front of you before setting off. This is especially true in finals where you are racing for position, remember it's not up to the referee (and yes John did a great job all day) to see all the incidents and then tell you to pull over, we should all be doing it second nature. Anyway, roll on round 2 at Falkirk in 2 weeks. If you are still to enter please use the online entry form at www.sorcinfo.org |
Derek, big thanks to you and the team for putting on a great start to the year.
I thought that John did a particularly good job as referee, and commentator, it made the difference between it being a sequence of buggy races, to a real feeling of being an event/ meeting. Dont know if that makes sense. I must say Derek, that the fact you waited after our collision amazed me and much respect for that. Yes it ruined my race from 3rd, but you then sacrificed your own result as well by waiting. The mid-pack was so tight in 2wd A, that it meant we dropped right to the back on one corner. I do appreciate what you did. Unfortunately in the 3rd leg it was done to me as well while in 2nd place, but that time whomever was just continued on. Frustrated by both at the time, however on reflection just need to find some pace so I dont end up dropping back into the pack. Overall very good, big  from me. Big  on how a large portion seem to view marshalling as some sort of chore. Its part of the day and will never go away, so do it properly, you cant eat, stand with hands in pockets, talk to other people, and face the wrong way, watch the race, AND do it properly. :) |
