:D:D can't wait to give it a go! :D:D

It's amazing for £25 but obviously a steady hand and some very basic knowledge of electrics and soldering is needed

The best thing about my install is that I've got the tranny aerial poking out the top of the tranny (where it should be!) rather than on the back of the module.

All in all an excellent piece of kit :thumbsup:

It isnt a difficult task as you say, but if anyone prefers it done for them, Im offering this service for £45 all in - thats me buying all the materials, doing the work, quality checking, testing, and then sending back the converted TX and brand new in packet receiver all ready to go.

PM me if anyone is interested.

(yes, I do indulge in shameless self promotion... sorry!)

i bought the frsky plug in module for something like £13 rather than the hack module, lazy i guess!

Not in stock at the mo or I would have too! lol

yuk. and have an aerial sticking on the back of the transmitter (so it gets snapped off and probably has to sit pointing down as the Esprit 3 modules do)... and then an extra defunct aerial on top doing nothing?
I also dont think it works with the Esprit 2 as this is a "slide in" type module which goes right inside the TX.

Some pin out's on the FrSky site, they may also respond to questions. Most of the info applies to multichannel flight transmitters (with american model numbers) - but may be of help to you (thats my disclaimer:woot:).

go onto the Giant cod forum on their website, nearly at the bottom is a thread called RC guides. Look for the one about using Frsky as a hack module, and in there you will find some photos of which to use, that's what I did and it worked perfect (it shows you a Futaba module with the pins marked PPM, + and -)

I soldered onto the back of where the pins are

There's not much room to mount the button and LED board inside the tranny though so I mounted it inside my old 40 meg module case.

Let me know if you have any problems and I'll put some photos up

I to am very tempted to do this for my sons 3VC TX, but would rather put this into the RF Module box so i can be removed at a meeting if there's ever a problem

john333 11-03-2012 06:08 PM

I was going to do that but it wouldn't quite fit, I found it too tight with the wires etc

I've just bought a esprit 2 off eBay for £35 and ordered the hack module and 2 receivers. I'm going to follow cardnims instructions :) fingers crossed it goes ok :)

Giant Cod are cheaper, have them in stock, and are local.
I usually get all my deliveries from them the very next day.
