Spotted this company at Race Retro last weekend

http://www.rallylegendmodels.com/RLM_-_Home.html

Some nice bodies... Huummm S4! Bit pricey thou.

WHITTLER555 28-02-2012 08:18 PM

I saw these at the recent North West Stages rally show and I think they are RTR so the money is not too bad.

The bodyshells were very good, really accurate and the Fiat 131 with the lights was mint.

The chassis looked like maybe CEN or Carisma 4WD units with the stick pack battery down one side and the motor speedo etc down the other.

Not sure how long the components would last if you raced them but just for the odd occasional run they looked ace.

Shame they can only persuade Fiat/Lancia to commission the bodyshells as I know hundreds of people who would buy a Mk2 Escort R/C rally car!

i definitely want one that would fit a Skoda Fabia MK1 WRC shell and be dirt cheap with cheap parts but a strong quality (kinda like Ansmann)

Controlfreax will release a mk2 escort shell soon.

This is the one schumacher sold as a bosscat variation as a full kit not a convertion. Is this Sierra or an early Escort? Unfortunately I only have the manual not the car.

Some of the videos on the first page are really cool not sure about chasing the car though. :woot:

I think the cars and tracks they have built in some of those youtube clips are great, They are propper rallying, If I did it I would prob stamp all over the scenery, trip over flat on my face:lol:.

It was a Procat chassis and the body was a Sierra Cosworth, made by Parma. Not pretty, here's my example which desperately needs repainting - the original owner used the wrong paints and a rather large paintbrush to do it.:(

Those 20 year old old converted buggies have nothing to do with modern rally cars though, the modern cars are touring car based so much more realistic and better detailed.

Hello guys,

Just wanted to show you my rally cars:)

The Audi is the original Yokomo mr4tc with longer shocks, it's not the rally version (those are as common as hen's teeth!) but it works great anyway.

The Renault megane is a Tamiya ta05v2 with scratch built diff covers and a tb01 inner body for added dust protection.

It's a shame that rallying is not more popular, but maybe one day?

I just bought myself a HPI RS4 Rally off a friend with a good Valvoline Focus shell.

Just need to mod it slightly to accept lipos now.

oooOOO pics when youve done mod would be nice, ive got the same shell aswell but still need to rebuild mine and looking at using my LiPos (saddles) ;)

the nimh stick pack brackets look like they'll fit fine, but they're too narrow to take lipo. I'm going to drill some new holes in the chassis to widen the brackets slightly and then just drill some holes to allow the power plugs.

Otherwise it seems fine. Might be worth adding a small belt roller just to lift the belt as it's very close, if not touching the leading edge of the lipo case
