Why don't you just upgrade to IE7?

I tried that but it's hugely unstable on the win 2k platform.

Before anybody suggests upgrading the OS the only XP disc I have is a cut down version supplied with my laptop ..... seriously unstable if used with any other board.

With Vista not being compatable with any software I use I'm stuck till I can afford to do a full system upgrade .... which at this rate will be about 2028 .....

Aye, I wouldn't touch vista with a bargepole yet....

Its just fatter and heavier than XP, with no real improvements in technology, just a glossier front end that requires better hardware.

Just a thought, but have you tried alternatives such as Firefox, Opera etc etc. Firefox 2 is extremely stable, and has tabbed browsing! Rock on!

http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/ is your friend....IE7 memory leaks like a mofo anyway so an old machine will die with it on....

RogerM 04-03-2008 09:32 PM

Thanks for the ideas guys .... it's only PMs on oople that kills it so I'll live ..... it's not like I have any friends who will want to PM me any way

Ok, so i am struggling to source some imperial drills to drill out some pistons, but the #54 drill that i am after is equivelant to 1.40mm the equivelant to a black hole is 1.09mm, but the nearest drill i can get is 1,10mm, am i really going to notice 0.01mm??? afterall im going to be using a dremel anyway:)

IE7 Won't install on Windows 2000, only XP or later.

No such thing as a 'cut down version' of XP, a OEM versions are the same it's just the product key that dictates what hardware you can activate it on. (EG, a VLK licensed to brand x will only activate online on the origonal hardware, otherwise you have to use the phone method).

But I digress, back to shock pistons... :p

Cheers elvo, i didnt know how easy it would be:)

I didnt think i would feel it but you never know:D

I would definately buy the correct imperial drill bits, they are called #56 #57 and so on.

don't buy the metric equiv if you plan to 'copy' peoples setups and referance other companies pistons like Losi.

Lee, I'll get you some today

Another thing i am thinking about, just thought i would add it onto this thread.

I am having some blank pistons made up for the aero, if i go for a slightly thicker piston will it provide more pack for the same hole size:confused:

It might not but my head thinks it might:lol:
