Because each one is individually made and not produced from a mould like any other ae would be, as I found out from Wes the other day. Which means there could be a small number that vary.

Has anybody had a problem with the layshaft wobbling when the gearbox is built? I've put the spur on the layshaft
and it's all over the place?

yes i experiened the same problem, just mess about swapping the slipper plates around and make sure the slipper pads are located properly
took a few goes and is a bit fiddly.
i found that doing this sorted mine out and the spur runs true not all wobbly.

I can do this stuff, im just sharing my finds here.

Gearbox sorted, took me longer to fit the tool to the dremel than to fix the gearbox. Its that easy. Lucky nobody else having same issue then? But if anybody is, I don't mind fixing trackside at Chadderton, I'll bring the dremel.

Hello from Germany!

I had exactly the same problem. After some Dremel action everything works fine. The build quality of the car is good, but not brilliant :).
The Lipo holder is approximately 0,7 mm from the chassi. I extended the holes with the dremel, so I can move the lipo holder to the inside of the car.

Do you have the same problems?

Viele Grüße, Jens

My layshaft was touching the inside of the gearbox also exactly as described in this thread. But a vey small amount of the gearbox removed with the dremel and all runnnin perfect now. Car looks great.

Hi Jens,
No I had no issues with the Lipo holder. Please show some photos. If you are concerned email Wes at CML and he will help you.

I had the same "problems".

On 1 side the lipo holder was +/- 1mm to wide and some dremel action was needed in the gearbox to make it smooth.
Nothing major so all is good now.

Very nice looking car!

Hi,
I have also had the layshaft gear fault with the teeth touching the case, also i have no layshaft spacer so the gear rubs on the inner case, not to mention the trouble of converting the B4 diff outdrives and bearings. Still waiting on a reply from CML. Starting to think i should have spent my money elsewhere, vega maybe, :(

Drop an email to CML, they were superb in helping with the problems with mine.

I got the out drives from my LHS, the diff bearings though I got from rc bearings.co.uk for a few quid as no-where else had them in stock. Ordered, and they arrived the next day :)
