It really does look like liquid mask which makes me think that its maybe reacted with something on the body or even maybe soap residue left over from cleaning?

and when you have peeled the mask its just brought up the residue. either way it should clear up and if it is anything off the LM then i believe a bit of water and a sponge should lift it off.
