I am just building mine now and have a big issue with the centre shaft. When I put it in its right on the edge of the holders and when I turn the spur it comes out. If its positioned perfectly central it stays in but as soon as I turn the spur it moves one way or the other slightly and drops out. I have already put the holder at the front end right on the edge of the cut out on the shaft so can't move it any nearer to the edge. What can I do as its useless at the moment? :(

Put a bit of padding in each outdrive. Cut a cigarette filter up to space it central

the cup coming off of the slipper shaft should be right towards the end should have plenty of engagement. suprised to hear you having issues. muybe a put pic up for us?

This is how the shaft is positioned with the grub screw positioned as far up the shaft from the slipper as possible within the cut out on the shaft. If I move the cup and grub screw any further up the shaft its not sitting in the cut out and look vulnerable to coming off under drive as the grub screw is only tightened down onto the end of the round shaft.

Something looks seriously wrong here, but nothing else looks out of place? Help!!??

Silly question maybe but is the rear gearbox sitting flat? It may be the pictures but it looks like it's sitting up at the front?

I'd say gearbox doesn't look properly engaged in chassis. The diff output looks quite high in relation to the chassis.

I dont know what changed as I sat the diff housing flush on the chassis and held it firmly there whilst I screwed it down but clutching at straws I unscrewed it and rescrewed it anyway and now there is no problem. The diff housing looked to be sitting flush before and doesnt look any different now, but the outdrive is slightly lower so something had got out of alignment by a mm or two the first time somehow....

I remember fitting my gearbox housings back into the chassis and they didnt fit flush at first , they sort of click right in to place.

Glad you have it sorted as the build of Kyosho is allways a pleasure.

I would also say by looking at your first pic you should have more scope for movement on the front part with the grub screw in as it looks like i can see some of the shaft it bolts onto visable inside the cup forward of the center shaft..

Hi Nick, the cup with the grub screw in was as far forward (toward the drive shaft) as it could be as any further meant the
grub screw was sitting on the round part of the slipper shaft instead of sitting in the cut out section.
Now I have taken the diff out and reinstalled it the problem has gone which I dont fully understand as it appeared to be flush the first time but there must have been a slight kick up somewhere as its no longer a problem.

If you have fitted spacers under the forward of the rear hinge pin blocks you need to cut off the pip(s) as they catch on the case. Still not got my FS2-SP but on the original FS instructions it mentioned it.
