Also Balders i cant wait to see your creation as well.

Oww its a thing of beauty..

Mine is so far behind that its silly, I've got so much to do to even get close to the polished example you've put together there mate.

Phil I think you should forget your Losi and just run this all the time.. :)

At this rate we may just need one heat dedicated to RC10s...

I saw that on RC10talk, didn't realise it was yours.

Having personally been spanked by it I know how well it works aswell.

You are my inspiration Yanus

Losi VLA Arms - with the outer hole cut away
Losi VLA Truck hubs - inner hole cut away
B4 axles - it works but a bit short, B4.1 units should be better.

You need to grind the axle spacers a bit, otherwise you're just a bit to wide with this configuration

Edit: found the parts list:

Quote:

Rear:
- Losi 'CR VLA arms, cut away "long hole"
- Losi XXXT VLA hubs, cut away "short hole"
- B4 axles ( but like I said, B4.1 should be a bit better
- Stealth tranny
- Fibre-lyte shocktower
- B4 rear shock

Front:
- Fibre-lyte shocktower
- B4 20 deg hubs, drilled to make hingepin fit
( 20 deg is "-5" on a B4, so its actually a 25 deg on a RC10)
- T4 inline axles

I just went to a hobbyshop with a caliper, to see what should work. Since I wanted easy access off the shelf items. But...........

Hmm, That car look slightly familiar:)

I'll get some more pics of mine up when it's complete, hopefully by the end of next week i wanna give it a test run. I'm sure you dont want to see all the little shots of every stage of the build that i took!

Balders, looking good there fella! Would love to have a worlds chassis on mine, but my proper worlds car is my winter project so my milled chassis is staying where it is!

Lastly Craig, not this friday dude next week, hopefully you'll be able to have a go on it then:thumbsup:

mrspeedy 19-10-2011 10:07 PM

So the point of all these mods is to emulate the original RPM long arm then ??

What Mikey means is that he has no earthly idea so if he make a big bold statement maybe you'll forget what the original question was... very American Mike LOL.

Si: I have been trying to find out the same thing.

From what I have read they are "the same as Worlds" not sure if that means they are the same as AE wide track wishbones (as fitted to the Worlds car) or if they are the same as the RPMwishbones or if in fact the RPM and the AE wide track wishbones are the same.

Really need a RC10 boffin involved at this point.

Any idea CAINE? JANUS? Anyone?

peetbee 20-10-2011 11:51 AM

My understanding was that it was as close as you could get to creating this geometry
http://www.oople.com/forums/picture....pictureid=4473
or this
http://www.oople.com/forums/picture....pictureid=4474
but I could be wrong!

Northy 20-10-2011 11:54 AM

What's with the trend for truck based cars? If you use a truck nose do they not end up longer? Don't the truck shock towers cock up the shock angles?

peetbee 20-10-2011 11:57 AM

G, I think the wheelbase ends up pretty much the same as they redrill the mounting holes, the truck shock tower is used with wider track front wishbones so the lower mounting is further out than with the standard buggy width.

With the truck nose the car ends up the same length as our modern day 2wds (its about 8-10mm longer than standard rc10), you can re-drill the nose plate to bring the length back to the original RC10 spec but then if you are widening the wheelbase front and back a little extra length never hurt anyone...

Most people run the RPM worlds front tower which is slightly lower not the truck front tower, I don't have an RPM tower yet so left the truck one on for now.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode...USA_Episode_1/ - it reminded me of Top Gear about 2-3 years ago when the films still seemed a little un scripted and they look like they are having a laugh.. They are already on season 2 in the states and they do get better as they all gel. Jumping a Cadalac Coupe was funny! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fRaSV...eature=related
