its an LRP shark truck with a kamtec shell and touring car wheels with schumacher rally block tyres I think.
The car is similar to the FTX Blaze that CML import - CML have no plans to import the truck version though - the LRP came with a lot of nice hop ups I beleive also. |
it looks sweet! just 1/10th wheels and tyres aye?or 1/18th?
in your own opinion whats best 1/18th buggy? im drawn towads rc18b as i have ft b4? |
also are wheels hexs or pins?cheers
|
If you look at the results, these anderson based cars (lrp / duratrax/ ftx / yokomo) are very successful and hugely popular. The top guys all have a SHED load of hop ups on them though to make them strong and perform. The LRP in the photo did come with a lot of the needed bits afaik.
I'm reviewing and racing the new Xray M18T Pro at the moment, which comes with lots of nice features so shouldn't need much in the way of extras - and I got it going nicely last night after some setup advice from a team driver in the USA. |
just want it to play with :)
will stick mamab and lipo in, telsshells is doing my current design on my ft b4,might ask him to do on rc18 b want a min version of mine what wheels would fit,are they hex or pins ? cheers jimmy |
on what? The xray uses mad wheel fitment, but you can get touring size hex adaptors. The Blaze uses some sorta hex I think, and I think the rc18 uses a small hex.
You can fit a buggy body to the Xray, but it's a truck as standard - and many people (at least over here) aren't big on trucks I don't think. |
me too more a buggy man,do you know what size onroad wheels the use as in what scale,1/10th seem to big!?
|
i personally believe thorugh experience of racing, the rc18 car are only good for drifitng and very wide tracks, the buggys can overheat due to tight fitting shells and the rc18mt, is the bees knees. its got good cooling and can be setup for any track including offroad.
btw, nice to see u on the forum mark, eventually |
awe.....it's not fair. This is just a few mins for me...I want a mini now
|
no jimmy, rc18's use little pins not hex's.
|
oops
Shows what I know - never even taken the wheels off vickys lil truck! :) someone gave me some lil hex wheels so I assumed they were off the rc18 |
Hey, i went to the race last wednesday (first time) and it was absolutly bril. Great atmosphere!
Is tyre additive ok to be used? It was very slippy for the 18R's, and struggled to get the power down without spinning out. |
Good to see some new faces . The carpet is slippy so pins are the best option but dont fit the R. When we were using the carpet at Pudsy addatives weren't aloud but nothing's been said since. I'll bring it up on Wednesday.
Having an R myself I converted it to a truck untill my factory team truck comes so I can run pins, unfortunately electrical probs denied me a win this week but next week I'm ready for a win :D. My R http://a45.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/...eefdb46c6c.jpg http://a134.ac-images.myspacecdn.com...96837c986d.jpg |
not as good as my Bodge Truck.
and you know it. but yeah, looks like its slowly populating, hopefuly we might have regionals and supersups coming soon? anyway, the site is almost finished so i may aswell post (if its okay jimbob) www.earlsheatonrc.tk |
haha course its ok
a win huh? you were going really well last time, pity your car hated you! I'll be gunning for you this time tho :) |
