how does a shorter chassis increase rear traction?

if anything, a shorter wheelbase will make it more nimble, that's the theory anyway

Nice looking chassis ...

I'm a little confused tho .... what's the kickup on it ? I thought the stock 22 chassis was 25 degs ? but you say you have added 5 degs and still got 25 degs ? :eh?:

It's a typo error it's suppose to mean with the 5deg caster blocks.
I'll let them know at the shop to change this.
Thanks for Pointing this out.

I know what you mean this was our thoughts before we tested v1.
But the back end is a lot more planted than with the standard car.
I don't know where you live but if your at the bury regional this weekend then your welcome to try the car out this weekend.

the std kit, kick up is more like 20 degrees.

DCM 14-07-2011 06:37 AM

No, 25' as the shim for 25' is parrallel, whereas the 20+30' is tapered.

Are the corner weights the same with this chassis, simple by shortening the chassis would not alter weight bias to settle the rear end, or does the different cell lay out more weight on the rear?

I don't know to be honest.
We never had any side pod weight to try.
But what I can tell you is that it works.
Our sons that race the cars are just average F2 drivers and they were not happy with the 22 like every one that has one.So the v1 was made and it transformed the car.So a couple off tweaks where made then V2 was made.
So that's the story on how it was made.
We have the saddles across the chassie this is the way we run it.
I will be trying to get some pictures up tonight as I finished late last night.

really, i dont think there is anything wrong with the kit chassis.

the conversions coming through are making the cars better (although i can only speak for the speartooth)

The shorter wheelbase allows the weight to be transferred more effectively.

Are other peoples chassis flat at the rear, or got the joggle in to raise the rear suspension holder and gearbox?

There all flat at the back unlike the original.
Were running the 4deg LRC block with 1 deg antisqat.
And fit as normal.

ISSUES

Only issuie i had was the rear HRC block doest seem to sit flat & also had to mod the front part of the side gaurd by using a screw and bolt to hold it down and slightly mod the servo posts!

jonathan may 15-07-2011 09:28 PM

Do you still run the tlr mid motor weight or the cream weight with this chassis ?

Did you put the 2mm washers under the servo post.
Plus as the 10 mm is taken from the front the sidepod fixing lugs do need fixing down with a nut and bolt. As there moved foward.
We use the LRC block, if your at the bury regional this weekend let us take a look.
