Sorry if this seems like a negative comment??? The vega does look very nice, but it would be great if some better advertising/website structure was in place at team extreme to deal with paying customers like myself who they need to snap up.

Off my soapbox now.

Oh Mark - It's not hard to get one mate!!!

gazhillAE 13-05-2011 08:52 AM

Not an x6!
C4.1 is the biggest option and looking the best on track also!
Although the vega cars do look great and very well made no one seems to run one.

Tony

It's probably not that hard but it is harder than it needs to be.:(

Not going into details about any specific model shop on an open forum but as a general point if an outlet has an on-line ordering system it needs to be kept up-to-date. I always think it kinda defeats the object if you have to call them before you order.

I gave up and bought the replacement bits for my X6 - doubt I'll be able to resist the lure of a Vega for much longer though:)

The Vega cars are getting out there, last batch of B4 ones there were over 30 pre sold, I am sure they will be hitting the tracks soon!

At my local club there are 6 vega's already, mostly B4 and 1 x Kyosho.

The pictures dont do the car justice, the machine work is amazing, go for it!

As for support, you have some top drivers running it, maybe not as many of the B4 version but you can cross over set ups and get it how you want it.
Lots of oople people are willing to help, Kev Lee, Nicvega, Tony Evdoke, Alec Springer all top racers and I am sure the list will grow!

Does anybody know when C4.1 is going to be available? July?
If it's too far away, I'll go for Vega.

MHeadling 13-05-2011 09:41 AM

Why wait! You could be racing the Vega next week (check stocks with Xtreme first) and it only took me 2 hours to convert it over, happy days!

Is it a B4.1 you have a or a B4?

Just check when you order as the diff bearings/gearbox is different for each car, let Xtreme know and they can select the correct one for you.

That's the point, John! All the C4.1 drivers would probably have beat me with stella cans for wheels. I think we need to see some mortals driving the car before people can pass judgement.

forgive me for pointing this out, but is that why the very top guys are paid to race these cars, they are just marketing. I would say if you take away all the team drivers out the the rest are just like sheep, if a product is seen to be getting the results people will go out and buy it because they think it will make them go better. fair enough, but in the real world we are just going round in circles and if nobody made anything new nobody would be making any money. going back to the debate on which car is best, none of them is the answer it all comes down to the individual, driving it, setting the thing up, and getting the very best on the day out of it. I am a lesser driver with little experiance, and not to be bias, but I have improved on average 2 finals since I have been using my vega

SimonW 14-05-2011 06:15 AM

I bought the 3rd RB5 car they had made @ Petit before I'd even seen it running purely because as an engineer myself looking @ the pictures i could see how well made it was and i thought to myself 'If i was gonna make a car myself properly I'd have come up with something similar'. My wife says i stare at it to much, lol. Since getting mine i have never been so fast, in fact i won my first regional with it the other weekend.

Well said Goldy ! Too true the top racers in the Uk could race any make of chassis and do well, they are just good at what they do!

Its the club racers and regional guys that are worth watching, the ones who have vega conversions seem to go very well! Iv driven the Kyosho version at Epr and it was so nice to drive, I was doing the same lap times as my 4wd.

I agree Simon it's an engineering master piece! It's amazing for the price they Xtreme can produce a car like this.

Vega Baby!

think you may find that not many "top drivers" actually get paid to race.

SimonW 14-05-2011 08:39 AM

Wot? You mean none get a retaining payment or expenses? I find that hard to believe.

RudeTony 14-05-2011 09:16 AM

Paul is right - very few and select drivers are actually being paid to race.
Expenses and tyres etc etc is another deal.
Paid is actually doing it for a living or semi-professional..(i can never remember 2 'F's or 2 'S's)

The point is clear through = The Kyosho Vega is the way to go - LOL
TQ and Win last night with many good drivers :)

TheRacePlace 14-05-2011 09:36 AM

Its not just the cars that make them good also , its what kinda track layout/surface we race on, different cars work better on different surfaces and react better or worse dependant on the layout, its also always about the right setup :) as i found last night at RCArena a slight little change makes a massive difference.

i dont think it honestly matters which car you eventually decide to go for there all goood manufactured cars, its wether you as a driver feel comfortable driving it.:)

All the time a driver is not paying out of his own pocket to race, he is being payed to race. it would be interesting to see if you took all the assistance away what cars the top drivers would choose if they had to part with their own hard earned cash. No chance of anyone having the balls to be honest though ehh

Ben Cosgrove 15-05-2011 12:33 PM

These top drivers started the same way as everyone ie buying their stuff and racing at the bottom. After showing dedication and skill they now find themselves in a position that companies respect them enough to showcase their products. People always make things sound like the top guys don't deserve the support. It takes a long time to make it to the top of this hobby. I bet if you ask neil cragg to total up his racing costs including trips abroad for the duration of his race career you would be shocked at the amount spent to be in a position he is now (although I don't know his deals so can only assume)

RudeTony 15-05-2011 03:42 PM

Ben you are right - some drivers have put in so much time and money into our sports before they were sponsored or paid or whatever one wants to call it, it's insane. If they are now good enough to be paid either expenses, or wages or bonuses or whatever then I say, good luck to them.
With another TQ and Win, Toyman it's still the Kyosho Vega you should pick.
From a non-paid driver - LOL :)
