theres alot more buggys running now matey, even though its still a new thing for the lads who race there.....but there trying to find the alternative to the mini pins.....so the carpet isnt spoilt for the touring cars.

do you just glue the foams to the rim then??

ive heard some say they use thin double sided tape and that works well....

I cut out the two middle ribs on the wheel, slap on some double sided tape, give it a squirt with some 'glue melty stuff' (i have some break and clutch cleaning sprey for that) and slip the tire on.
I noticed that the Anneti tires are very resistant to chunking. not like touring car foams.

how well doe those slick mini pins go on carpet wot compound do u use thanx

I was about half a second slower when the guys that went to Petit were testing Minipins. And the wear is minimal.

We just cut the spikes off the yellows we've been using all summer, but some guys have tested the slick minipins now, and due to their stiffer sidewalls and such, they seem even better suited. Also, that doesn't wear the carpet any more than touring slicks.

Here's a vid of Ole Steen Karlsen and others:D All cars equipped with slick Minispikes.

No, that was 4wd. Grip is not a lot lower, but it's a lot "softer", the tires don't dig into the carpet in the same way.

It's the only tire choice if you want to unite with touring people...

This is a race from this weekend in Sweden.

We use minipin and minispike as slick. We cut of all the studs and grind so the tiers are compleatly flat. We also use adative. Personally, I'm really sick of cut tires when there is finished rubber slicks on the market.

Schumacher started making cut stagger ribs, maybe we can get them to make slick minipins as well?

I've heard that Schumacher *are* going to release slick tyres.

clumsysaint 19-02-2011 06:10 AM

well the buggy slicks would certainly solve the problem....let us know what you hear buddy....

OneKiwi 19-02-2011 07:32 AM

panther has slicks and don't cost that much, but at the mo they are not leagal in sweden... silly really

tc3team 19-02-2011 09:20 PM

i race at www.horshamrc.org

We race on a track that is 10x15m, buggies, (10.5 with minipins) mardaves and touring (13.5 foam).

the carpet is getting thin now, but is far from being new.

The track is very high grip...:confused:

the winner of the A last night (touring) also had his car setup so well that no amount of power would see it understeer, or the back end come round.

Welshy40 19-02-2011 09:34 PM

Additive sucks. Mini pins is the way to go for buggies.
