sim, i did exactly the same thing as you did, to make the B44 hex work on the tamiya axel, simply bend the axel pin into a bit of a "cresent moon" shape and you should be able to tap it in no problems, ive had mine like it all year without one issue

there are two problems in my opinion with spacing out the wheels, you end up widening the track of the front end (its only marginal and probably has minimal effect) but u lose the benefit of the deeper hex, the reason j concepts went with the deeper hex was to prevent the stripping of the wheel hex that was happening in the losi cars, by spacing it out ur giving the hex less material to transfer the power through.most people will say they havnt had problems, but if u have the b44 hexes anyway, just bend ur axel pins a little and theyll work fine, and u'll never have to hunt around for lost spacers 2 mins before ur final when ur doing a quick tyre change

That sounds good. We've already stripped a few wheels :(

Can I ask do you use the original Tamiya pins with the B44 hex or do I need these too?

Any tips on how to drill out the AE hexs so they fit the DB01R axles?

Also, the original Tamiya pins are too thick, should I get the AE ones.... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/AE-B4-B44-SC10...item20b6c2a7b3

Thanks for any advice
