Thanks Henrik.
I do love the old Yokomo wheel and hub design and have these for many of my vintage racers.
Can you or anyone else recommend a good starting place for gearing on this car keeping in mind it currently runs a 3570kv EZRUN system? I'm obviously running 100 tooth 48dp now and not the kit .6 module.

Well I have to admit that I don't like too much the look of the Zx body, however your car looks S T U N N I N G           .

Probably this is the result of the whole things you put togheter, the paintjob, the tires, the towers, it really seems a modern evolution of the ZX.

Probably you will get a PM about the esc, I was not planning to sell it, but now that I know your final intention, who knows .....

Bye

Wow thank you EMA. You were very helpful with the towers and now possibly an old esc :-)
I could always see potential with the ZX shell and even that crazy duel wing. Finally I have painted my first and there are no regrets with the design. It's a tough shell to make look good with it's wide and stubble kinda look.

Those wheels, hubs and towers were what I used, and looks stunning. Top job matey.

Thank you Welshy. The concept when building and selecting items for this car was to try and recreate a car from the 89' period. I feel a bit dirty with the brushless gear and lipo's as I would love to set this car up with an old skool modified motor plus I have some good 1700 cells saved to one side.

If you can get an 11 turn brushed motor a 19 pinion would be perfect.

BORMAC 03-09-2012 11:36 AM

Thanks Welshy. I think the 3570kv motor is equivalent to 13t?? Do I'd need a pinion larger that that which you recommended?

Looks OK I guess

You really should work on straightening out your paint mask lines though...it's all over the place :p:p

Welshy40 04-09-2012 05:53 AM

I did a search and info suggested it was an 8.5 so based on that a 24 pinion is more suitable but in 48dp, not .6

BORMAC 04-09-2012 11:06 AM

Thank you James. That sounds like a good place to start :D

I'm hoping to get this car trackside tomorrow afternoon. I'll keep you all posted.

Cheers-Jason

The next thing I'll be bugging you guys with will be roll centre settings on these crazy 'LEGEND' towers.

That depends on the track and length of your shocks, so would suggest keeping the wishbones just under level but would keep the angle of the shocks the same both back and front. Roll bar may be needed and I would suggest buying the Associated B4 servo mount and fitting it with the extra spacer as that moves the servo inwards towards the belt and does make a little difference in the balance of the car.
