I had the same problems with the brakes on 4 different hobywings (which i think are the same as a speed pasty) after pulling my hair out which didnt work, a very helpfull friend re-set my epa's on my transmitter then we tried programing 100% reverse although not using reverse. cured the brake problem:bored: it seems you have to program a value in every setting even if you are not using it.

Ok, gone back to basic reset and selected everything brake to the max. As soon as you take your finger off the throttle the wheels stop and the beast grinds to a quick halt.

Now, this proves it works. The car also needs more effort to be pushed - you can feel the force of the motor.

However, pulling back the stick still does nothing. So the ESC is working but maybe not set up to the handset correctly :confused::confused::confused:?

as said above, set the reverse to 100% even tho you probably wont be using reverse anyway. Now set your brakes as you like and everything will be ok. For some reason, you need maximum reverse to enable maximum brakes:thumbsup:

what setting are you calling max reverse?.

I've now got it all on Max and it stops on a sixpence when you release.... but from what I can see nothing on reverse stick. Perhaps the natural brakes are on too much and you dont feel the reverse power - But I don think that's right.

I'll fiddle a bit at the next meeting. What I have now is a vast betterment than before, would just like to slacken the mid braking a little and have a bigger effect when pulling back.

Think it might be a hands on job for an expert.

Set the drag brake to zero and the initial brake to equal drag brake. Leave everything else to the max and you will have progressive but strong brakes through the range.
