that keyfob one is very impressive for the money

do you always have to have the date/time at the bottom?
what size and price is/was the memory card to go in it?

bodgit 14-11-2010 04:58 PM

I just got one of the keyfob ones its really good.
I got it in an ebay auction with the sd card and card reader for £10.50 free delivery. Non on open bidding now but this guy is good and fast.

My keyfob camera came last week. Its so good I ordered two more :thumbsup:. Can't wait to get the planes out again and get some video 100ft up.

bodgit 15-11-2010 09:29 PM

Any idea how to reset the date or better still remove it.

MRD 15-11-2010 09:39 PM

You alter the date using a txt file in the root dir but I've not got it to work properly. Not sure how to remove it tho.

mole2k 15-11-2010 09:49 PM

I got one too, here's one of the quick video's I took.

I believe date can not be removed.But you can crop the video or use a virtualdub filter to blur that anoying timestamp.For both processes you must reencode the video.

Here's a website with some usefull tools,mods,hints for keyfob camera -> http://chucklohr.com/808/
Virtualdub pluggin -> http://www.aircommandrockets.com/md80clone.htm

cam

any one got any pic of the camera thanks

MRD 15-11-2010 10:21 PM

To set the time make a txt file called TAG.txt.

In it copy:

[date]
2010/11/15
22:18:00

Make sure the time and date is current. Save it to the FIRST directory (the one with DCIM in). Unplug the camera, tak a pic then plug it back in. Hey presto the time is now correct :D

Thanks for the info.

Put it on the dashboard on antislip mat the other day. Took very clear video. Could be handy to use all the time for proof if you ever get into an accident.
Trying to fix it on the bike next.

blu tack works well on the dash, holds my small digi cam well :thumbsup:

My contribution - vid made with the same keychain cam on the front of F1 car.
Track is a bit bumpy so sorry for a little bit of blur.
Yes it's the best small cam for the money. Would buy it again.

My keychain camera on an M05. The bouncyness was a combination of thin bodyshell rattling on the mounts, and not a lot of oil left in the shocks :lol:

mole2k 19-11-2010 06:22 PM

I had a couple of very big off's last night and the camera survived fine so I recon it's pretty strong. Must see if I can upload a crash compilation video :P

I even managed to get a barrel roll on video!

Garry 19-11-2010 09:37 PM

I noticed in an accident (or any big impact) with the keychain camera that the sound cuts, then fades back up again.

BTW, with that camera, this website is the bible and shows all the differences with the versons: http://www.chucklohr.com/808/
