There isn't a 1/16 specific class (basically only 2 classes: Pro Stock and Mod).

As long as they fit the dimensions I think they'll be good to go!

Here are the rules:
1/18th Offroad
1. Racing Classes.

Pro Stock
1.1. Any brushed micro motor, no larger than 400 size and complying with the following dimensions:
Can width Max 29mm
Also see Rule 7, (Technical Diagrams).
1.2 Any available Stadium Truck or Buggy micro shell.
1.3. Any Micro Scale chassis with any chassis modifications.
1.4. A maximum of six 2/3A NiMh cells allowed to a maximum nominal voltage of 7.2V.

Modified
1.5. Any brushed micro motor (complying with 1.1) or brushless micro motor complying with the following dimensions:
Can width Max 29mm
Also see Rule 7, (Technical Diagrams).
1.6. Any available Stadium Truck or Buggy micro shell.
1.7. Any Micro Scale chassis with any chassis modifications.
1.8. A maximum of six 2/3A NiMh cells or any LiPo cells allowed to a maximum nominal voltage of 7.4V.
1.9. Lithium cells MUST have a voltage cut-off device set to 6V. This device can be integrated in the ESC or fitted as an external component.

2. Construction Rules.
2.1 All cars must comply with dimensional requirements. Also see Rule 7, (Technical Diagrams).
2.2 Dimensions in mm: Max Min
Overall width (Ready to race) - 205 N/A
Overall length (Ready to race) - 275 N/A
Ride height - N/A 5
2.3. The car shall be measured for width and length in a constructed box of internal dimensions 275mm x 205mm x 150mm in height. All parts of the vehicle must fit within this box freely.
2.4. Any commercially available foam or rubber tyre may be used as long as the vehicle conforms to the constructional dimensions in section 2.2.
2.5. All rubber tyres must be of a solid construction, i.e. ‘Cut and shut’ tyres are not allowed.
2.6. Tyre treatments are not permitted. The BRCA has not yet found a substance which it can recommend for the treatment/cleaning of tyres.
2.7. Bumpers may be fitted but must be designed to minimise injury that could result from being hit by a car, also to reduce the risk of damage to other cars.
2.8. All cars to have clearly visible identifying numbers to the Race Directors satisfaction.
2.9. Numbers must be at least 25mm high with minimum stroke of 4mm. They must be black numerals on a white background
2.10. When initially entered in a meeting the body shell must be neatly finished and complete.
2.11. Cars must not reverse during competition under any circumstances.

Is that the full set of rules ?.. or where can i find them ?

Hi,

The most successful foams, it would seem, are from Gecko. www.geckotyres.com

Full rules can be found at www.ukmicrox.co.uk --> Events --> BRCA Series

Hope that helps :)

There are also videos at this link :)

Modified
1.5. Any brushed micro motor (complying with 1.1) or brushless micro motor complying with the following dimensions:

Come on, you know you want to! Think of the trees you'll be saving! :D:D:D

renejespersen 15-10-2007 10:13 AM

I know I want to :)
But it is a bit far from Denmark to England just for a weekend.. :)

Could be cool.. we only race 4 indoor races in Denmark and on a very old bumpy 10th clay track. 1st leg this weekend with 6 cars.
1 LRP Shark monster
1 LRP Shark buggy
1 Xray M18T
3 Team Associated RC18B

Even though the Shark is almost the same as the FTX i still won with my RC18B on a bumpy track where the heavy Shark really had an advantage. I think that the AE is even faster on carpet ?

Let us see some different cars overthere :)

Do you have any pictures or a website I could look at?

Does Denmark have any big indoor carpet 1/18th race meetings at all??

renejespersen 15-10-2007 10:49 AM

How long is that from London ?
Is it possible to sleep at the track?
Do they have a website ?

renejespersen 15-10-2007 10:53 AM

c0sie..
http://www.racegallery.dk/gallery017/index.html here is some pictures from a race last year with the 10th scale cars..

No we dont have any other meetings but the 4 over the winter at that clay track. it is together with 10th scale races. It is just for fun and is not really a serious raceclass as you have in england.

Here is a picture of my local track. it is very little but a lot of fun.

You'd have to fly to Bristol airport and get someone to pick you up/hire a car/get a taxi (expensive!). There are many bead and breakfasts around there so it would be easy to get there.

See this thread: http://www.oople.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5831

It would be really nice to enter an UK nationals.. but at the moment i dont think there are anyone else but me who would travel with me.. :) I really love the 18th scale and i hope it can get just as big here in Denmark. I'll probably go to UK someday to race 10th scale, but 18th is not that possible. I envy you for having such a great series of races.. and cool tracks as well..
