I wont be running 1/8th electric due to a rediculous, unfounded, hardcase lipo ruling.
But i wish most who choose to run 1/8th electric the best of luck.

To be fair though, that was an individual championship ruling wasn't it, rather than a BRCA one?

Talking of which, if someone tried to set up a meeting/series, what's the BRCA insurance position on a class that doesn't exist, has anyone who's looked into elec 8th found out?

They have that ruling for ROAR here in the states. We just laugh at it since no one races it anymore. Regional and state championships struggle to get a B or C main the attendance is so low for offroad in the south. People only look to the nationals for ROAR. The rest race club or RC PRO Series.

would very much like to run my elec 1/8 when i finish putting it together, would have to be at the meetings that the group from down my way attend as we share transport costs. nice open rules keep costs down for club level racers and reliability + no pit crew are a really big plus for me. as for lipo hardcase, just make one, its so easy, all you need is a block of wood the size of your lipo or lipo tray, a plastic bag and some carbon fibre or fibreglass matting and some resin. you can get fibreglass car repair kits at car accessory shops for under £10 and you will make the cover in under 30 mins of working time if you are at all practical. not sure how much of a problem peircing a lipo actually is though, had a plane one puff up so i tortured it before it met the salt water bucket by sticking a screwdriver in it, shooting it with an air rifle etc, it didnt react at all, any protection has to be better than none though as it could save you a substantial amount of money buying new packs
