Or another way: 80% of all AC cars made the A.

V-Rossi 10-03-2010 10:46 PM

See it this way: 80% of the drivers was driving the X-6, 10% was driving the CR2/S2. So this means 15% of the X-6 cars made the A final, while AC had 80% of their cars in the A :p

Flippo beat me to it :)

OK, now make the same calculation counting only non-sponsored drivers...

I think this is called 'a pissing match' :D

Last weekend we had the second national of the year, on the great Kampenhout track. Conditions were different from the past few years as it was very dusty (more than 3 weeks without rain, have you Brits ever had that?:)). This made for 1 particular set-up change: mini spikes up front instead of the usual Stagger Rib.

Wouter TQ'ed 2 rounds (out of 3) so had first place on the grid. Steven qualified 4th, his best qualifiying result so far. And I had to start from 8th.
The finals were over the moment they started: Wouter dominated each final, making very clean and fast runs.
Steven ended up 8th after some radio problems and I was 5th, so a great weekend for the CR2, with 3 cars in the A and of course TQ + win.

Here is the set-up, there are a few differences between our set-ups due to personal preferences:

Front:
Green spring, 35wt, #56 piston, 2mm limiters => tower #2, arm middle
Camber links 3-B (1 washer)*, -1,5° camber
20gr of lead in nose, front wing
Extended wheelbase (1,5mm) + 1mm washer under horizontal steering ball stud.
Mini Spike Yellow, inner and outer row cut off.
Ride height 21,5mm

Rear:
Pink spring, 30wt, #56 piston**, 0mm limiters => tower #2, arm inside
Camber links 6-B, -2° camber, 1° anti-squat
Wheelbase long, wing low and to the front (medium gurney)
70gr under battery pack (rear half of battery slot filled with lead), Rudebits plate + 10gr.
XXX rear end with MF2 hubs, new flex link system (no brass block)
Mini Spike Yellow, outer row cut off, Losi insert***
Ride height 21,5mm

Gearing: 25/78 on 8,5T motor
Grip level: 7 (1 very low, 10 very high)

*Wouter used 2-A and 2 washers, choose to your own liking :)
**Wouter had #57 piston and 25wt oil
***Wouter had the KWF insert in them, Losi is bit harder.

The car was fantastic and did very well on the dusty astroturf. Those who will use the CR2 during the Belgian GP can start with this set-up.

Yep car was great :-)

Here's my setup in pdf:

In Belgium Championship the CR2 took 3 of the top 5 spots (1 Wouter, 4 Steven, 5 me) and 4 of the top 10 spots (John Debacquer). The car has been fantastic on every track!
Wouter managed to win 4 out of 6 nationals with the CR2 this season, and become 2nd at the other two.

Yesterday we had a grass national, on a very rutted grass track that turned into a sand/grass mix after a few heats. Lots of bumps in the track, here is my set-up:

Front:
Green spring, 30wt, #56 GHEA/chamfered piston, no limiters, rod ends unscrewed 1 turn => tower #2, wishbone #3 (outer), long VLA
Camber links 2-A (1 washer), -1° camber
Long wheelbase mod, 25gr in front of servo and in nose, 20gr behind servo
Schumacher Mini Spike Yellow, outer row trimmed, inner row 50% trimmed
Ride height 25mm

Rear:
Pink spring, 30wt, #56 GHEA/chamfered piston, no limiters => tower #2, wishbone #1 (standard inner hole), XXX rear end
Camber link 7-B (no washers), -1,5° camber, long VLA
Long wheelbase, 1° antisquat, wing front and low (full gurney)
90gr under lipo
Schumacher Mini Spike Yellow, outer row trimmed 50%
Ride height 24.5mm

Total weight 1675gr
Motor: Alien Power 8,5T with 25/78 gearing (idler on top)
ESC: Speed Passion GT2.1 Prostock
Servo: low profile

The rear long VLA was very good through the rough sections of the track. If the track is a bit smoother, I always use short VLA.
