Ive just had conformation from schumacher that both the sc &sx2 will be relised mid to end of march.23rd would be cool as my bday :thumbsup:

End of March then.... and then a question of whether they'll make enough to maintain stock levels etc.

I have also been told there won't be an upgrade pack for existing owners...

purplenut 08-02-2010 02:46 PM

upgrade

Am I missing something here?

I bought a 2nd hand cat sx last week and installed the servo in it in about 30 seconds. Didn't have to line anything up. Two screws, and job done.

When I mount my Sanwa it doesn't fit perfectly between the gaps, so you end up scewing down on only a percentage of the tabs, rather than the whole tab if that makes sense.

Indeed bummer, oh well more money to spend.

So that would be an issue with your servo, not the cat :p.
I do understand what you mean now though!

looking at it though, with the exception of the big bore shocks, the SX2 appears to be a lesser spec'd version than the original SX, especially if you have the stegger brace on it and the modified layshaft.

Maybe the plastic hangers and diff adjusters are there to keep the cost down so the big bores can be included and the kit remain at a reasonable price.

I wondered if that was the case, but the Sanwa looks the same size as the other brands with the lugs etc. May see what a Savox looks like in it from my B4.

What servo are you using?

I have thought that too as it reduces costs. Another though is they may be moving away from the spacer set-up for toe in etc. I.e. you want 3 degree toe i there will be block A, 2 degree block B and so on.

Can you take a picture of your servo mounting and sending it to me?

I will do....I have a Futaba s9550 in mine, it fits a treat, although prior to putting that in I trial fitted a KO and that fited fine too, but it's not as powerful as the futaba, so out it came.

Thanks,

If it's a better fit my Sanwa (#ERG-WZ) Digital ERG-WZ Servo will move to something else.

I thought they would all be a standard size. Oh well I'll just check it over again.

bigred5765 08-02-2010 04:23 PM

may be the mount or screw that holds it is bent

True, time for a strip and check...

Cheers,

I see some of the parts have gone up in the listings on the Schumacher site.

Alloy Front Blocks; 7.5 deg - Cat SX2

Alloy Front Blocks; 10.5 deg - Cat SX2

Wonder what these are as compared to the original Cat SX.

It may well be cheaper to sell the existing Cat SX and get a new one than upgrade :(

David Church 08-02-2010 05:38 PM

This car looks very nice indeed:thumbsup:

I doubt it if you have the chassis already! The only other big difference is the big bore shocks, but I can't see me gaining a lot from having them. The other upgrades are just little bits and pieces that you will/can replace over time as the original bits get worn out and/or damaged.

Dazzler 08-02-2010 05:46 PM

Don't know if I've missed something - but does anyone have a comprehensive list of the differences?

mdb_75 08-02-2010 05:47 PM

I'd say it's just everything that's listed as new in the specs?

Dazzler 08-02-2010 05:57 PM

Are we looking at an advert somewhere or the Schumacher website?

mdb_75 08-02-2010 05:59 PM
