Hasn't every car needed upgrades to fix issues?

Competition in the market is a good thing.

Schumacher cars have never really been for me, but this does look promising...

Wonder if they'll do a blue edition :p

EDIT...

All for competion, makes it interesting

Well, now I'm expecting thread named

death of the Cougar SV
:p

Negative about the Schumacher, is garaunteed, they will release the car, then a few months down the line, they will have a shed load of parts to rectify parts that really wasn't tested by numpties.

Positive, a mid motored car that isn't a conversion, so should cost quite a bit less!!

.....Or you could all wait for the DEX210, then you would have the best of both worlds with the reversable gearbox that looks planned. :)

i think they did there homework this time by letting more than one driver develop a working setup before release:confused:

I think it will be great to see Schmacher cars back at the top of ranks again :)

Build it, and they will come...

It's interesting that some think that one car will be the death of the other, when history relates that this isn't the case. The Fiat 500 was released in 1957, and sold like cold cakes outside Italy because no one could see the point of a small car. Enter the Mini, and by the mid-60s, 500 sales had shot up. It is difficult for a technically new product to make the market alone, but when a similar product comes along, it makes the technology legitimate.

Current technology is the same. We had the Blackberry, but until the iPhpne came along, such an all-encompassing mobile device was deemed the province of businessmen. Once the iPhone came along, it legitimised the concept of e-mail on the move. At the same time, the use of touch screens was considered the province of geeks (mainly Apple geeks!) but here we are with Nokia, Samsung and Google all coming in to the market. Suddenly, the touch screen is the market standard, and the geeks are now part of the mainstream.

If the layout of the x6 confers such an advantage, and Schumacher have worked out the secret of its success ( ;) ), the we can expect others to follow. Suddenly, the market is legitimate. If they all go this way, and it makes 2WD off-road easier for new drivers to enter because the cars are easier and better to drive, then everyone's sales go up. XFactory will as likely see an increase in sales if the Schumacher car is as fast as theirs - mid-engined 2WD cars, as a technology in the market - have arrived!

I hope you all enjoy them. 2WD Off-Road is the only thing I'd give up my beloved 12th scale for, and it deserves all the popularity these two cars might give it.

I doubt this will be the death of the X6 - it might even increase sales, but it will change the way its done.
Lots of X6's out there were built from a fresh B4 Team kit, making it a very expensive car to build. That I think will cease as people who want a sparkly new mid engine 2wd will just get the Cougar.

BUT

The B4 is still the most popular race car out there. So there are loads of B4 owners itching to get on the mid motor bandwagon and the X6 is a cheaper option than the Cougar if you already own a donor B4.

Darren Boyle 17-01-2010 11:50 PM

and what "if" you dont always have to buy a donor car to get an X6 complete but could have the choice of a conversion or a whole kit so you could get to the same end product via two different routes?????? :o Now that might be somthing worth thinking about for the future pherhaps ;). I have said several times before, at X-Factory we have not just made the car and then gone off into hibernation, we too have many things on the go and in the pipeline and also the advantage of a HUGE headstart over our rivals in the race for the ideal mid motor 2wd in terms of design, set up and track time we have already gained... so watch this space as they say!

mole2k 18-01-2010 12:18 AM

The big thing thats always turned me off an X6 is the cost it would take me to build up a new one, as I didnt already own a B4 the cost to get one was high and always too much for me to justify.

If it could be bought as a kit I would of been much more tempted (although I now own a b4 so I intend to run that for a while before trying anything else)
