i dare say that was the case for the x6 but the x6 sq uses a rigid battery mount/strap so this would strenthen the chassis

As has been posted before, it's not the ribbing between the slots so much as it's the chassis sloping upwards at the sides, the battery simply won't sit any lower. End of. I will use Asso thumb screws to fix the strap down but as my chassis is "used" the studs don't locate very well if I only thread them part way in (to leave enough exposed thread to fit my pack) so I may have to get creative with the epoxy.

You could try the Nylock nuts that come with the quick-change kit...

I've taken about half the height off the battery slots and the lipo definitely fits lower (Trakpower dark 5000). Any more off and the battery ends would be sitting on the up curve at each side of the body. No probs so far!!

The quick change kit nuts are a pain and so, like others, I've fitted the Associated thumb nuts. I ground down the front two to half their original height and put a bevel on them - still easy to turn, but less height to foul the body.

Just recieved my quick change kit, silly question but do the studs simply screw in to the chassis? or should there be some kind of insert in the battery posts?
Also with regards to the lipo's being to tall, is it an option to dremmel out the battery slots so the lipo fits lower in the chassis?
