Just out of interest, what difference does having the shocks laid down make? I mean in terms of 'in theory lay down shocks give me traction because...' etc

I would take it that lay down shocks are not better. if they were then surely manufacturers would be doing it.

Well we have 4 national championships a year and the durango came out before the last nationals of the year and i just got my fs then one guy ran the durango bud I TQ with my fs. I cant see the durango being that good

so don't buy one then!

Lay down shocks are just to get a lower COG and give more adjustments. The cons are that it usually means a very high rising rate action. Using falling rate rockers counters this so the shocks still thinks its standing up! Borrowed this from an 1990s mounting bike design.

Look at the Traxxas Revo range and even the 1/16 E-Revo for a good lay-down shock style.

With the arrival of a new FS the ZX5 is now a mid engined 2wd. Still with rear shock setup but an RB5 front end. Pics to follow soon. Found the front end would catch on the carpet peices we have on the jumps.
