Would be ne to see pull type shocks in rc like on the redbulls latest car

I remember the pull shocks on the old Yeti DH and GT Lobo, worked great if you could keep the oil in the damper. Might just of been that rockshox shock though.

Upside down shocks will also add significantly to unsprung weight which is not generally a desirable thing, will make the car a lot less responsive.

That's right Sosidge - the unsprung weight is the reason, and would counter any advantage to running a lower C of G.

sorry if ive missed it but wot effect does a 2 stage piston have?

jono83 15-07-2009 02:24 PM

If you aren't familiar with two stage pistons, they make is so that your shock has different dampening rates depending on whether the shock is compressing or extending.. When the shock is compressing the piston maintains a higher dampening to keep the wheels from bouncing off the ground just like a normal shock. When the shock is extending however, it provides a lower dampening - which means your shocks extend quicker to get your tires back on the ground, and back to providing tractions as fast as possible.
