Thats what i was going to say... it doesn't look like the remains of the screw are in the post. Easily done though, i've left the screw out before, but luckily got away with it.

It is the single most important screw on the car :woot:

The screw was in as can be seen from the photo above the broken one the tube is also bent so it was in at the point of the crash but there's none in the tube. It's a bit of a mystery, maybe i didn't threadlocki it in properly and it worked it's way loose.

It looks like it might have ripped out of the end f the ali tube in the crash.... was it long enough? You can't beat a bit of length :woot:

maybe its stripped the thread out then? what length screw was in there? if there was not much engagement that may have been the cause.

Can you see from the tube if the thread is damaged and how far down its stripped?

Guess its not only the preds that break their chassis ha :p. Yes there are more durable cars outhere but ALL cars can break , either from poor quality of a specific part that failed, either from bad luck and timing or from stupid driving.

That screw is the RC equivalent of the nut that holds the blades on a helicopter AKA 'The Jesus Nut' I suppose you could call it 'The Jesus Screw' but that doesn't quite sound right :woot:

There are a few stripped threads in the end of the tube so it looks like i didn't threadlock it in properly and it worked loose :blush: this combined with an awkward landing must have been why the chassis broke.

All the replacement parts arrived today so top marks to Lewis and the team for getting them out to me so fast :thumbsup:

like kev i havent gone with massive amounts of lead. just enough to get the car 10g over the limit. mainly at the front of the lipo for me as that suits me, so play around with the positioning once you have a nice setup (and a rebuilt car) :blush:

Would that be on the 8th Astro track at Coventry?

It was indeed, they have put some work in recently and the track is a fair bit smoother now though.
