Well done team xtreme glad you all enjoyed it.. pred looked fine for 24 hours :eh?: 3 pairs of bud caps? I thought they looked like full driveshafts :p 12 sets of tyres.... pfffff!! We only used 6 sets  |
Had a new set of shafts ready to go on, (quicker than changing just the buds), then changed the ones off the car for the next change.

Well done Team xtreme
Wishbone and a ball joint failure in 24 hours on a boggo standard car thats very very good just shows how strong the x11 realy is well done again |
Many thanks to Lewis for all the support for the event, well done to everyone on our team, the car looked good in everyones hands. Really enjoyed the meeting but am really tired now!!! The car was great to drive and was consistent throughout the 24hrs. Also well done to Stu for organising the team and Nathan for keeping us all going.

And do you know the length of this steeper-mounted pushrod? Just that we, overhere in Belgium, can figure out how to try this mod, since having no examples running around here (yet). [edit] .... ooh wait a minute. Nathan is comming over next weekend. We might see it in his car then. But then again, it would be nice to be able to prepare this before the EIR-race, just so we could try it out as well. |
Good to see the pred holding up to the abuse of 24 hours of near consistent use. The preds of old would have needed their gearbox's rebuilding quite a few times over in that time.
Lowie, the mod looks like this I think mate http://www.oople.com/rc/photos/petit...s/OOP_6280.jpg It looks like the screw is secured by taping the wishbone rather than a nut on the other side. Bit of a guess but I should imagine the rod is the 30mm ones used for the rear toe links. |
i have been running this mod on my pred since i bought it just over a month ago, nathan said to me to start off with the turnbuckles about 23mm long (23mm turnbuckle showing between the ball cups)

I think we went through 27 sets of rears give or take a couple. and maybe 10 pair of fronts. Well done to Xtreme, i was impressed, as everyone was how well the pred stood up to the task.:D |
lee if we were tight on tyres mate shumacker only doing six sets must have been sown up tighter than a *&%^*&*&%)*, (too explicit to state):p the pred did the buisness all the way

No No No, i meant schuey being tighter than a ducks arse, not Xtreme. Sorry for the confusion  |
lmao thats what i was saying too mate bet it had something to do with shimage

o as well the ball joint at the rocker end is screw on top of the rocker and not below it as standard
|

and also........ make sure the ball joint is popped on! :D |
as kev says the rear link (tow in) turn buckle is fine for the job. i also use the cone washers from the front hub top link to allow more clearance for the ball joint. if you dont have the parts lowie then pm me m8 and i will bring the parts with me on friday with the rest of your/barts stuff

I found the EBOR car to be very 'sharp' in the steering department. It was very positive on turn in, if I concentated on the job then it was faster - no doubt.
It was good, but I'll not be busting a gut to make the 'team mods' myself as I find the kit standard X11 to be very suited to my lazy driving style, ie it virtually drives itself around the track - ;) |
I would just like to say a massive WELL DONE to all our TEAM XTREME TEAM. They all done really well and performed as a Team. Having a Team of all levels proved to be fair and a great Team Building event. Also proved the car can be driven by anyone with minimum effort.
A BIG thanks to Stu for getting the Team together and involving everyone. And a Thanks to our Team who acted like a Team and did us proud!! HIP HIP HOORAY HIP HIP ....Okay I'll stop now:D Yanina x |
Well done guys, glad the you and the car did well, wish i could of been there
Whats happening to the car that was used at the event? shelf queen? |
No way man, it will be back on track very soon, in the hands of an F2 ability driver, well known to many folk, who has run 'Pred' brefore at national level.
