I'm thinking blocks on the rear as it may be kinder on the belt and slipper as they dont have as much bite.

i thought you might give everyone a wooping with the lazer

As si-co said indoor only for that car.

Neil, what spur and pinion size do you use in the cougar?

My RC10 also runs minispikes both ends - I tried staggers but it just didn't work right. It doesn't help that its hard keeping the cars nose down at all with a modern motor.
Curiously though staggers up front and minispikes rear is perfect on my RC10, but then a full truck width set of staggers is a pretty beastly tyre.

Hi, can I just ask what the criteria are for vintage, new to buggy racing this year but been searching for a car from my youth to run but not sure what the rules are, cheers K

Currently 86/25 on a 9.5t but looking at what your planning on running that might be changing, but I've not looked at what to yet -/- 8.5t.

If that's working Neil stay with it as I think I'm just going to destroy my gearbox with this 7.5t. Also my ballstuds are a bit past it, ging to see if i can find sone new ones before next week. I managed to find my manual and that has all the gearing charts in so sorted it now. Thanks for the reply still Neil.

I'd use the original club10/mk1 front wishbones it you have any I found it ridiculously twitchy at Bury with the swept back ones.

Si Coe 15-09-2016 05:58 PM

We don't really have any rules - its about having fun!

In theory anything thats a few years old is OK to run. and as you've noted most people are running modern electrics. Thats more a convenience thing though - a lot of the old stuff wasn't that reliable.

If you are thinking about what it takes to win in this class, it probably isn't the class you should be in......

I have both mk1 and mk2 front arms, I'm going to give them both a try.
