Thanks for the heads up no I haven't put any in you'd think there would be some instructions of something if it needed something doing to it
What type of oil do I need

I'm running fastrax 5k but other manufacturers are available. I guess they come empty because as a tuning option they'd never be able to suit everyone, although some would be nice. Just fill till the oil levels with the top of the cross shafts it's probably less than a teaspoon.

Isn't that for a gear diff? I never knew you had to put oil in a ball diff either!! Live and learn

Ignore me - hadn't seen the introduction of gear diff discussion at bottom of previous page. Thought the advice seemed wrong!!

Just been checking a few other site out and some seem to suggest the ready built rtr gear diff already has oil in it was yours a pretty built one?
I've emailed the place I bought it to ask too

To be fair I only checked mine as another 22 driver had said his came dry and that was corroborated by a 2nd driver, so when I opened mine and that was dry also I figured that was the norm, there's certainly 3 cases there either way.

Out of interest would you put some kind of grease on the external gear if yes what type

NeilRalph77 03-06-2016 06:19 PM

A small amount of black grease that you'd use on the thrust of a ball diff if anything, just helps to keep things lubed and quite.
