To me "big stuff" sounds like more than an optional laydown gearbox on the existing B5M chassis but then again speculating about AE releases is one of my favourite hobbies:lol:

J-Concepts have a S2 bodyshell for the B5M designed for laydown transmittion, so given their links to AE that would be a possibility

I have tried the Shapeways 4 gear laydown transmittion and this works really well and all in cost is £65. The Yokomo motor plate is the most expensive part of this at £25.

On their FB page, AE talk about a milled out chassis for adding weights, a carbon rear tower and the lay down box..! All from the Worlds car, plus some new features..!

Looks like the news we have been waiting for?

I'm expecting a new car to début at this weekends EOS round 4. I wouln't be surprised if AE sent over some of their big guns to run it with Craggy. I expect RedRC.net will be all over it.

Also check here: https://www.teamassociated.com/cars_.../discontinued/
AE now consider the B5M discontinued...

B6?

markwilliamson2001 26-04-2016 08:15 PM

Yes that doesn't seem to affect the B5M FL which is still available.
The CM and original B5M are discontinued however.

I just wish AE would GET ON WITH IT. All other manufacturers have come up with 3 or 4 gear laydown gearboxes with the exception of probably Kyosho.

I have seen photos on FB today showing clear gearbox cases with a 3 gear letdown setup, shock tower and other bits.

just wish they hurry up. Clearly they have the mould made now, just need to start producing them.

They are working upto it, with shots of the worlds car finally, then development pieces for the B5M. I think they are building up to release of the new car proving its pedigree by showing the development from the red worksop gearbox, worlds car, test pieces and then the final car. EOS is on Friday, I'm there so expect to see it run there.

Yup will do, looks to be less busy (less entries) than round 3. Back at the Nurburgring again with some VLN endurance GT race Nordschleife action too.

It's looking like a great weekend. I head out Thursday morning.

Have you seen the amount of weight he had in his car? No wonder there are weight slots.
Another AE driver had a shed load of weight at another large race.

Joona's Redworkshop EOS car? Seeing the slot-in weights on the Worlds car reminded me of that straight away.
