what about import tax at customs?

dazp83 02-07-2015 03:21 PM

Very rare to get done from Hong Kong as they normally put it as a gift and worth a small amount.

And we wonder why hobby shops are disappearing from high streets..
Plus there is no backup or any one to talk to for technical help..

I'll only ever buy from the UK

Bang on topic, well done.

Presumably all the DMS and Xfactory references in you signature are to promote your favored shop rather than any indication of sponsorship/ support.

No doubt you insist on paying Darren full price to support the UK market rather than accept any discount he may offer you.

Never had a issue myself, I buy mostly from UK but sometimes find a good bargain elsewhere.

Really pleased with it, looks great, works well, reliable and the bluetooth module is very trick.. quite a few people I know have moved away from the high end brands and started using them now too.

Either that or the absima as its basically the same as the orion R10/HW etc etc

I've got a couple of the Toro TS120A & I think they are excellent value for money

Hobbyking currently has the Airtronics Super Vortex Zero esc on sale for $99. I just picked one up for my TRF211XM build. Should work nice with my MT4S with the SSL feature.

Use them too, and they have been great, very similar i find to set up as my HW V3.1, good price, and no failures as yet, not tried the Bluetooth module yet, but it does sound trick

The HobyWing V3.1 I bought us absolutely brilliant. It's very linear and easy to setup.

To be fair the Sanwa is on Hobbyking for £65 bargain!

I can't speak for the ESC's like the Toro or Hobby Wing but I run Orion R10 160A in both my cars (4WD and 2WD). This ESC has a nice responsive and sensitive throttle, this response can be configured. I also find it delivers power very quickly and is ballistic down the straight. The punch is a nice feature, allows extra torque depending on how an aggressive driver you are or track conditions. Most of these features you'll find in other ESC's I just find the R10 to be more responsive and quicker than most other cars I have driven.

This all said, it's more expensive than £100 but there are usually some for sale on Oople in the sale section normally less than £100.

thanks

Thanks all,

In the end after speaking to and seeing a few esc's trackside I opted for the Absima revenge CTs10 from insidelineracing

cracking bit of kit, loads of options and has a set up card after seeing onboard set ups on the LRP counting flasshes and colours etc... id just get confursed.

Im really happy and know a few guys who run it so plenty of advise trackside to help with setup. gone from middle of B finals to lower half of A finals with it. just getting to grips with the power increase then hopefully turn it up and do even better

Thanks for all your replies and input. Really appreciated

Got me thinking in my 2wd I have an old speed passion lpf with a 6:5 t motor. Would upgrading to one of the mentioned esc's like the vampire or abisma etc make any difference or just a waist of money?

Stickygeko 10-08-2015 07:47 PM

it should do

Im no pro rick the pros can probably give a more professional response, but when I had my SP it didnt really give me much in the way of setttings... you wouldnt believe how customizable the one i picked up is. Gives me more control all round
