Could anyone tell me if the springs that come with the car, Yellow fronts and green rears are Yatabe springs or just regular Yokomo Big bore?

Cheers for the info on the pistons Fozzy

Chris

Kit springs are new for YZ-2 (codes YS-A). yatabe springs (codes YAS-) are 5mm shorter and stiffer rates. I bought a full YS-A spring set with my car. All the fronts are still in packets. Kit springs work really well. I'll be moving to YAS springs when I hit the astro properly, as i am already on my BMAX4iii.
one of these days I'll get a moment to measure them all.

Hiya mate
They are not Yatabe but the new all round springs. The Yatabe are YAS codes and the new all rounds are YS-A. I would build them as per manual with kit springs and take it from there, as I said before 35/27.5 is a good starter.

Cheers
Chris

I'm just going the other way on my BMAX4iii, fitting YZ-2 arms and shafts.
I'm sticking with the YZ-2 arms for now.

Kit springs are good for low grip but a little soft for astro. I will be using YAS springs on astro also.

While on the subject, I have a box full of Losi springs in various colours. I can obviously check the spec rates off the chart and presume there is no reason they won't do the same job as new yoke ones?
So far I've only used the kit yellow and green ones, but if running on astro needs stiffer springs, will the losi ones be ok?
I note from Neil's post above that some springs are slightly shorter- can this be compensated with the threaded body adjustment for the spring?
