Fan replaced, how long ago?. Could it still be under warrenty?.
Was it fitted by a compedent plumber (CORGI reg)

It was about last Christmas time.

Very strange for a fan to start and fail in that time scale. If fan has not come loose from mountings, then it might be worth trying to have it replaced under manufactures warrenty.

Just as a matter of interest which boiler have you got and how old.

Boiler is an Ideal Classic and is about 8 years old :eh?::eh?:

It was the fan that went last winter and we had a new one fitted but it's started making a noise again :( Any chance it might just be loose? :confused: Is it shite? :confused:

I plan on taking the front off the boiler on Sunday. Any do's or don'ts I should know about? :confused:

Anything that sounds/feels like it has water running through it, it doesnt, just cut through it to save time undoing the nuts and bolts.

Removing the front will not cause any problem, would be a good idea just in case fan has come loose. BUT MAKE SURE on refitting front that cabinet or door seals are in good condition and will reseal right round, other wise carbon monoxide could be able to leak out into room. (highly unlikely but could happen).
