Remember there will be others who don't have the option to reverse the motor rotation on the ESC, so in their situation they'd need a new speedo - which is the cheapest option now? :)

Oh suddenly it makes sense. I didn't know that speedos without reverse existed. Lol. I guess I've always bought decent speedos and never realised. The bit about the timing makes sense too. Thanks chaps.

It also significantly changes the way the car reacts as you go on power ..... that is why associated have done what they have, to free up the back end of the very locked in B5M

So has anyone heard any prices for these parts?

stegger 06-01-2015 07:24 PM

I've looked at the usual suspects to get these parts . Are they available yet ?

matdodd 06-01-2015 09:06 PM

Not yet mate, there still on back order

spud31 07-01-2015 10:49 AM

I was racing last week with a team driver using the 3gear transmission and he was using his standard shell and just trimmed it slightly to allow fitment, looked fine and went really well, makes the rear end really loose tho as I had a go of his car, MIP are releasing the same thing but with polished alloy gearbox

Origineelreclamebord 07-01-2015 11:31 AM

I'm not sure MIP will still release this product to be honest... I haven't seen it on their website or heard about it since they announced it, and since Associated themselves announced a cheaper, more lightweight solution only a month or so later, I doubt many customers would opt for MIPs solution.

Dkfream 07-01-2015 11:32 AM

CML have all the parts listed online and prices but not available to order yet, full cost should be around £45 for all the parts for conversion

Dkfream 07-01-2015 11:33 AM

I emailed MIP last week and asked about this product and they replied saying due for release early this year and will be priced same as associated part ????

Seems cml have these now states have theirs on cars

Wonder how close the 3 gear mod takes this to the cheater cars. Id personally prefer to have one car than the two currently

Noob 20-01-2015 06:05 PM

Cheater cars ?

Referring to 4wd cars that had the front shafts removed and also the front motor'd 2wd cars :)

Speaking to Craggy at the last worksop meeting, he was saying that the 3 gear car on high grip tracks was a good 1/2 quicker over the 4 gear box. Will be interesting to see how it goes for us mere mortals ! :woot:
