The track may benefit from the second & third being filled in to make a big table top. The fastest way will still be to clear the lot and down-slope the jump - but a table top would give the less committed a ‘get out clause’. It would stop what happened to Jimmy being a cause for concern.

It would take a lot of filling in I imagine.

jimmy jimmy what did you do lol

jimmy 13-10-2008 09:12 AM

haha, too much mud and too much excitement - I didn't feel compfy jumping the triple with a double-single, I was either rolling all three or clearing all three - sadly smacking into the face of the third meant my day was over before it really began. Truck was awesome though, really enjoyed racing it round there - just a shame I couldn't give Stu a run for his money.

yes its quite a tricky triple, you have to be confident in jumping it.

you got any spares for it?
how was the engine?

dave

Engine was sweet, just needed a twiddle to get it tuned right - it was bogging down a little when setting off / after waiting a few seconds at idle. Felt about right to be honest, fast but not too agressive.

The tyres didn't have the grip to confidently clear that jump - they were just filled with mud. The truck would steer inside other buggies but I guess didn't quite have enough traction to get the speed up enough.
No didn't have spares - always a risk with a new car when it's like the first one in the country. Never mind, it was still worth driving 2 hours and spending a tenner on - had a laugh.

I just richened the bottom end a little - I think it was being starved on idle.

I was not sure if it was too lean or too rich - so chose the safe option and upped the fuel a little - seemed to perk it up.

Yeah - funny that - was same on both cars.

now you mention it, when I got it back to the table and had wiped the tears from my eyes- I did notice the fuel tank was virtually dry. Either coincidence or I ran out of fuel on the run up and that's why I planted it? never mind.
Just some bad luck - I will be there next meeting and try again
