I get 'educated' almost monthly about insider trading at work... its naughty naughty to do it... I pass my monthly exams on the subject too...

thats illegal Griff :woot:

but keep an eye on nexen inc shares ;)

RBS have gone up 10% already today, and i would be tempted to jump on that asap as im sure they will rise by the close of play ;)

GRIFF55 08-10-2008 02:01 PM

Only way to make money:woot::p. Tha way all is now i'll be investing in my mattress:thumbsup:(might make it more comfy too)

Lee 08-10-2008 02:07 PM

It is risky right now, i wouldnt want to advise anyone as anything could go tits up.

Right now though if you have a few grand and fancy a gamble go for RBS, you could make a few hundred quid by tea time.

I am watching nexen though, their shares have fallen by 66% since july from $42 to about $15 now, which means the bigger fish, ie bp/ total will be sniffing round and looking to buy ;)

It depends how long you can wait though

Japanese banking situation critical

Thought you ought to know the latest banking news:

Following the problems with Lehmann Bros, in the sub-prime lending market in America and the run on Northern Rock, HBOS and Bradford & Bingley in the UK,
Uncertainty has now hit Japan.
In the last 7 days Origami Bank has folded,
Sumo Bank has gone belly up and
Bonsai Bank announced plans to cut some of its branches.
Yesterday, it was announced that Karaoke Bank is up for sale and will likely go for a song,
While today shares in Kamikaze Bank were suspended after they nose-dived.
Samurai Bank is soldiering on - following sharp cutbacks,
Ninja Bank is reported to have taken a hit, but they remain in the black.
Furthermore, 500 staff at Karate Bank got the chop and analysts report that there is something fishy going on at Sushi Bank where it is feared that staff may get a raw deal.

matthew413 10-10-2008 01:23 PM

Or maybe not ;)

Don't touch bank shares with a bargepole for the next few months unless you won't miss the money you're investing.
