From what I'v read about it, March release date, price will be around $550-600

Lots of pics on tamiyablog, area52.cc and various other sites

£ 360 sounds about right for a TRF kit. Expensive but think I'll have one.

Jk

What are the 511 gear diffs like for those that have used them? Are they low maintenance and what improvement to handling do they offer over ball diffs?

Really:wub:wub

511 gear diffs are pretty good, the stock plastic bevel gears are prone to stripping if not shimmed up but the TA06 steel bevel gears fit in the 511 diffs then they are pretty bomb proof

They are cheap too, new on eBay from HK about £12

fastinfastout 02-02-2014 08:53 AM

my gear diffs have leaked quite a bit though......

MHeadling 02-02-2014 08:55 AM

Forgot to mention tamiya have done a Red TRF o ring kit for the gear diffs, this sorts it

MHeadling 02-02-2014 08:58 AM

Whatever the body used you wont want to use it. It states,

Body Price 79,000 yen :woot: wonder what its made of. You wont want to mess that body shell up with bleeds :D

SiR_Dave 06-02-2014 02:19 AM

Nice... that means we should be able to get this kit form RC Champ for about 10~15% off of Tamiya's Retail price

Think that's something like the price without a body, around €580 or 480 Pounds.
There is another price of 83790 Yen, €612 or 510 Pounds which might be with body?

The Proline forward cab for the 502 might be a fit, as well as the original 511 body. Not sure if there is a proline phantom body available yet? Rhiehard was using it at the Reedy RoC:
