Shame you have to spend at times 3 times the amount to get a set of lipos on the list over the turnigy ones. They need to get them on the list ..... how many manufacturers are there od lipos ?

MattW 28-01-2014 12:17 PM

Grimidol - let me correct you there, Turnegy (your example) need to get their lipos on the BRCA list, not the other way round. If they can't be bothered to submit their lipos then they won't ever be on the lists.

it is a shame as I wont ever be able to race a regional or BRCA national etc, just cant justify the cost difference.

perhaps if enough people contacted turnigy they might get things done, wouldnt do their business any harm.

Actual manufacturers, half a dozen or so, the rest just have their packs manufactured for them in a slightly different case, with different stickers. By the same half dozen (or so) manufacturers.

I appreciate it might not help if you already have turnigy lipos but there are other lower priced cells on the BRCA list.

I run Gen Ace 4800 saddle packs (which are on the BRCA list) from Giant Shark for £21 a pack. Have 4 packs which my son and I have been running for over a year and no still going fine.

My apologies for the error. I consider myself duly corrected!

Looks like the SW region is about to have the rules enforced a little better in 2014!

Eoe didnt cheak lipos either !

grimidol 29-01-2014 08:42 AM

I didnt say BRCA should get them on the list just they should he on the list lol no correction needed lol

Fair do's. Maybe someone needs to ask the manufacture why they aren't on there then. In fairness, the new lists are due out any time, and who knows, maybe they have been submitted for this year. Or maybe not!

I can't see Hobbyking being all that fussed about getting the batteries on the BRCA list. After all there are already plenty being used at club level, at least 75% of our club drivers are using them, and they will already sell tons of them to the much bigger basher market.

All you need is a circular saw and some electrical tape... your good to go :p

I heard that the BRCA tech officer would never pass their packs, ESCs and motors to the approved list. Items have been submitted and failed. I don't think hobbyking are bothered anyway. The UK racer market for approved car gear is tiny compared with the worldwide market for general flight and basher gear.
