What spec was the Mardave? I might join you with one next Friday, or maybe even my own creation. Did you run 2s or 1s?

One of these: http://www.mardave.co.uk/rc-car-kits...duct-1729.html

I'm using a Mardave diff and good'ol fashioned NiMHs. Pretty old and worn out 6 cell stick packs too, 2200s which take just about enough charge for one race :) Oh, also using Contact tyres, not the ones that come in the kit.

You might struggle for traction if you were using lipos - heavy nimhs in the middle will probably help keep the weight where it is needed.

Thanks, I will try and get one sorted for Friday!

No, an old motor from someone's stash of old junk. It is silver and says RS540SH on it, so I think it is a Mabuchi.

But has 4 slots as opposed to the two slots that most silvercans have... Looks similar to the G2 that came with the Mardave kit, same 4 slot design. I don't know how many turns it has, I've used it in my tourer and it is slower than a 21T sealed can... I would imagine 23 to 25 turn... Next week I'll run the G2... Or my silvercan if I find it.

PS: Whatever you put it let's drag race down the main straight and compare. My Mardave weighs a tonne for what it is, the old stick packs weigh a tonne. Then again, I have this wacky theory that the weight makes it nice and mellow handling, the "chassis flex" suspension gets nice and supple over 900g :)

PS: Just found me silvercan!

msmith105e 12-01-2014 10:38 AM

I like it gui... not too dissimilar to one of the others ive done ....

cunawarit 12-01-2014 04:12 PM

I'll work on a few others, I liked the anti-clockwise circuit we had a while ago. And "Crossfire" types are fun too.

Chris56 12-01-2014 04:35 PM

Crossfire was a great layout - would like another diagonal straight.

cunawarit 12-01-2014 05:01 PM

Will work on something :)

PS: Proper silvercan ready! Soldered and ready for install...

cunawarit 12-01-2014 06:12 PM

Crossfire inspired Crossbow...

All this mardave talk .. may have to fit the new pod and give the contacts a whirl ...

Scott.

Love it! what way round would u plan to run it?

Anti clock-wise would flow through the lower chicane nicely!

Cool what motor do you have in it? The G2?

I've just installed a silvercan in mine, if you are running the G2 I'll take my G2 as well :D
