Just wanted to say a big thank you to the guys who worked long and hard today.

This morning Martin, Dan, Julian, Richard, Chris and Sam Poore (who has only been a member for a week!!) filled approximately 160 cement bags in the rain to build a retaining wall behind the rostrum. This afternoon Steve and I turned up after most of the hard work was done and helped the guys finish backfilling the wall, put back the fencing and sweep the track ready for racing tomorrow.

Unfortunately, despite some of these guys working from 7.30 this morning until nearly 4.00pm we have only completed around a third of what needs to be done to shore up the dig before we can even start on track improvements.

I appreciate we all have work and family commitments and I for one cannot give up all my saturdays to work on the track either but we do have a fair number of members and if most of us could all give just a few hours each over the additional maintenance days we are going to have to hold then as the saying goes "many hands make light work"!

This is not meant to be a rant but if you could have seen the state of the guys who work all day today by the end of the day they looked shattered.

Thanks

Rob
