manchester would be great woody , close to the m6 preferably lol , but if anything can be done to revitalise the sport in your area then i am up for that too

Run a vote for a venue to get an opinion ?

Id vote York also if they have a good venue and plenty of members likely to turn up.

Ferry could be got to Hull from the continent and Hull is only 38 miles from York :)

Just a suggestion :)

Yes I know York is good but its in the wrong area to promote the area. I was also thinking of a bigger venue for a bigger track and more people so that means more pitting space which they dont have. Sorry York.

I am going to talk to indoor Equestian centres and big sport centres.

Belsten 13-07-2008 05:42 PM

Jonesy 13-07-2008 05:47 PM

Woody you can count me in being only 30 miles away and I'm sure alot of the Mid-West guys would travel up. I'd also be willing to get involved in anyway I can to give you guys a hand if needed.

The ferry to Hull is a cool 300 quid as opposed to 70 Dover-Calais. Just giving the european view :)

Any way possible to get the guys from Neo-Buggy to leave the track in place after their race for another day or two ;)

Id love to get over to something like that but it would really depend on my financial situation at the time but if possible I would go.

This is a BIG bastard of a track :woot: --> click here for pics

It's in Newport, so I've just shot myself in the leg for it being close to Dover but just look at the pics

No idea how receptive they'd be to running an electric class on the following days but one can dream...

Does the European view not look at the full picture then? :p

From Dover to Manchester is approx 300 miles each way (6-7 hours)
From Hull to Manchester is approx 100 miles each way (2 hours)

So not only will the cost of driving be less, but its nicer to not be sat in the car for so long. Also, there is a night on the Hull ferry each way, which you would have spent in a hotel - and so that £300 (return) doesn't sound so bad now does it?

When I went to the Belgium GP last year, we did it Dover - Calais, but this year we did it Hull - Zeebruge, and this year it was far better and more do-able without dead legs, traffic jams on the M6/M40/M25.

if you can car share with another racer, or even 3, a cabin for 4 on the Ferry, its a no-brainer in my opinion. :)

BTW, Woody, depending on the date, count me in.

Chris

That's why I totally unselfishly wanted it to be down south  That was working on the assumption that it wasn't fixed on Manchester...

What's your take on the NeoBuggy track at Harper Adams?

racingdwarf 13-07-2008 06:41 PM

Indoor dirt race meeting, hell yer count me in:thumbsup:.

col300 13-07-2008 07:25 PM

chris68nufc 13-07-2008 08:56 PM

Loads from the North East would turn up. We only race Regionals so have got plenty of time for more track time.

racingdwarf 13-07-2008 09:01 PM

I think if the chance to hold an indoor meeting on a good dirt track of some form in the uk would be great, It would be a good idea to hold it were there is a good hub of racers in the area, But I think many people would travel out of there way for a good quality venue. But I know these are hard to find. It would be great to have a british Gp with a few drivers from over seas etc.
