I sent the shell off from the box without looking at it, still in the packaging, as why would there be an issue, they have never drilled holes in the before, EVER!!! I know i will have to live with it, as not paying out another £35 for the paint job just cos of one antenna hole i did not require. But. I am royally peed off about it!:mad::mad: |
no way!

paid £35 for a paint job with my name in it, do not want to add a sticker, is a crap place cos schumacher decided to drill a hole. I will have no choice now. but really UNHAPPY about it. losing the love of the car cos of this, sadly. yeah yeah moan and say i am a drama queen, sad, bla bla, but really peed me off. |
Would this work?
Find an off cut of lexan and paint the same colour as the shell around the hole. Cut an 8mm (ish) circle out out the lexan and shoe glue that onto another peice of lexan and then using shoe glue again stick it to the back of the shell like a patch? Or you could get the old 27 MHz kit out and use it for an aerial. |
Wow I wish that was all I could get so annoyed about.

wow, just wow.. a rant over an antenna hole :eh?:
Seen the pics of your painted body, the hole doesn't diminish the aesthetic quality of the body at all. Seriously, i think the comments so far here have been very reasonable. Can't believe how anyone can get so worked up over such a trivial issue.. it's frankly astounding. Ranting to Schumacher about it aint gonna help either... I'm not sure when they were designing this car they were too concerned over one loony ranting over an 8mm hole :p Plus you never know, perhaps it was requested by many to have the hole pre-drilled, just as Tamiya do on countless kits. anyway mate... harden the f$ck up, is my advice hahaha |

Is it really Schumacher's fault you didnt look at the shell and then paid 35 notes? These thing are models, so model around the problem. |
Worst recession for 50 years, people unable to find work and feed themselves. People killing British soldiers in a far off land ruining the lives of many. Gunman killing kids in the US, three people killed on our roads every day and so on.
And this idiot has posted ten times over a 6mm hole in a lexan body on a luxury item he doesn't really need and clearly doesn't like. Yeah, Bender, a looney ranting over a small hole - beggars belief... |

Most of the factory guys here run pretty long antenna tubes for visibility. Surprise, surprise. What's old is new, and if you don't need an antenna tube, you're just not that fast... :p

Thread of the year! This is great, keep it coming! Just spat half my shreddies out on the iPad!

Hope you're feeling calmer about it this morning Tartman.
Please don't turn this thread into an argument - Tartman was only questioning why the hole had been pre-made in his shell, and venting some frustration that it spoils the look of his shell. Indeed this may seem trivial in the grand scheme of everything else that is happening, but don't pass judgement when you don't know what else might be influencing the way people are feeling. And Ben, thanks for lightening the tone of the thread - let's keep it that way :) |
