She dont look half bad, bit of spit, a good rebuild, yeah. Looks to have Pavidis arms, at least, three of them, and the rear camber link.

Yeah I agree with lee, you do have the lightened arms.

You don't seem to have a motor mount cap, but that doesn't matter!

You also have the tcs slipper, so running brushless should not be a big issue.

You also seem to have the yokomo/associated shocks that came with the Pavidis.

I think one of the posts that hold the top deck is missing. There is only one I can see.

I recommend a total strip down a careful rebuild. Remove rust. Replace screws with hexes, lube parts such as bearings (or even replace then). The rims are probably usable assuming there are no cracks! Otherwise, jc racing do great repros.

It's going to take a little work but I'm sure you've got a stormer there! Check out competition rc for a PDF manual.

Yeah JC wheels are ace ive got a set of them for when i eventually run mine, so i dont scuff the NIP ones i have, there pretty rare lol.

I do, have a TBG shell and undertray i painted a while back if you want it, its not an amazing paint job, my first in a LONG time, but pay me the postage and its yours if you want it, it has got a bit trimmed from the steering tunnel to stop the saver fouling, but still looks the part. It hasnt even been used.

The TBG stuff is tight, but does work, its just a bit small, check my build thread anyhoo, shell is in there if you fancy it.

oooooh..... Team Suzuki wheel nuts, I recall these being a pricey hop up (25 quid for 4 back in 1996)

Very nice

ralphee 11-08-2012 08:28 AM

Wes, PM sent buddy, a pleasure.

Arran, yeah, TS hubs, but they are not on my car now as i found some NIP correct Yokomo hubs.
The TS ones are nice, but its nice to have the originals with screws!
Ill get some pics up of mine again soon, just waiting for my shell, and still need to finish up the install.

Quick update on mine. All this Yoko talk got me fitting the Yokomo wheels and dots to mine today.
Electrics are still a WIP and not decided upon yet.

How do you fit those wheel dot on the rims?

Are they thin like decals sheets and do they come with a central perforated area to leave the hub free?

They are indeed a decal, pretty thick, very tacky. They come one piece buddy, i just measured out the centre and cut it with a compass cutter.
Chose the orange to go nicely with the Masami shell.

That would be great - would love to see what vintage gems you have lying around at CML.

I'm presuming the MX4 in your two photos is a promo model rather than the actual car that Masami used to win the Worlds? I know that there was a super rare special edition of this car that came from the factory pre-built - complete with pre-painted bodyshell in Masami's colour scheme - I think this was only available to the domestic Japanese market -but suppose it would be feasible for the UK distributers to get their hands on one??

GRIFF55 14-08-2012 06:40 PM

A pic of varleys old shell would be nice. I loved that back in the day:thumbsup:

wezzer 15-08-2012 08:14 AM
