I am happy about every new company in offroad. I can t be angry xray joins us but not a single car by xray was interesting (ok the M18 is special and not a bad car at all). All onroad cars are more or less ripoffs. If something better will come up they will bring a new buggy just copying the car that won the last worlds, not improve their own ideas.
I bet the final car will be a B44.1 with turned front shock tower and two own ideas they will remove in the 2013 version.
And they will release 10 pics of prototype cars that look all strange but somehow they ended up with a car looking like an other sucessful car.
Xray quality is ok and if you are a big fan of cut threads and logos on the parts it s you car. But durability and shock quality is not Tamiya or Kyosho quality.
The B4 is now a very old car still getting new parts and most people like the car because of the support. That will never happen at xray nor will you get something new like the 511 back than.

I'm excited to see this buggy also - I do hope it's not another JConcepts BJ4 Worlds though - I want to see something mad. Give me chain drive please :thumbsup:

I've been waiting this for years. This project has been on going for at least 5 to 10 years.

I Really don't mind about copying other cars - this is the company which has capability to do plastics RIGHT.
After about 6 touring cars, two pan cars and one Cat SX and now running FS2, can't really wait to get to hands on a car which simply is right about details and loaded with quality.

Hope they get it fast from the start! :thumbsup:

It looks like a easy car to mechanic, for example Lazer is way too complex with so many screws only to get hands on the diff! Among many other things...

I agree. Quality is second to none on their cars and this won't be any exception.

The xray t1 was an almost carbon copy of the corally c4,which was a carbon copy of the 414:thumbsup:

Oh And as regard to prices of say a driveshaft...Ansmann list the x4 driveshafts as £40 A pair!!!

What? the Lazer is by far the easiest 4wd car to work on I have ever had! As for plastics quality I don't think you could get much better..

5 - 10 years??! :eh?: Thats just ridiculous! Guessing the project was picked up and dropped a lot over that time!

Either way, will be interesting to see just how revolutionary this car is...

@Jimmy: don t expect too much by xray. But with three companies coming with a car I guess at least one car will make you happy. JQ, TLR or Awesomatix.

The T1 was based of the corally C4/C4.1... itself very related to the Serpent impulse... partly designed/manufactured by Hudy... then when's the last time a TRF used PBS F/R??? and if you really want to keep going that route... keep in mind the C4 was released a couple of years before the 414.... in other words... sorry... bad comparison ;)

If you diss the xray touring cars as being of "normal" quality you certainly haven't tried one... they don't handle any different that the other top-dogs, but the quality is exquisite, both plastics and alloys are the finest in business, which means a LOT less maintenance and parts replacement, and that's why they're particularly adapted to MOST RC'ers and are the "sensible" choice... I challenge anyone to find a (ball) diff on the market that, when built right, will last as long as a xray diff before needing a rebuild... Parts are expensive, but they barely wear out compared to say a tamiya or a HB.

I'm not a xray fanboi, and I run a lot of brands on my many cars without being stuck with one even within one category(AE in 10th OR 4WD, undecided on 2WD for this winter season, Mugen on 8th OR, xray on 10th DTM, ...) ... but when xray starts doing 10th scale offroads I'll buy one, maybe not the first car though, I'll wait for the first evolution (they need to do their teething like all the others ;) ) Same for Mugen, the day when Mugen does a 10th scale offroader, I'll get one... quality stuff :)

it kinda reminds me of a bmax from yok,is it based on that car,are they using parts from yok at the front because the fr arms look like a bmax or maybe caster?

but what i will say the fk05 was defiintly based on the world championship winning 415ms and the t2 was based on the 415 msx.

the t2 deffintly was not as good as the 415msx i had one of david spashetts prototype 415 msx and that car was just amazing. i prefered it over the production car.

all in all i think the 10th buggy will be very good ive heard good things about the 8th car.

I certainly will keep in eye on it
