S2 = "Slim 2". This is one of the very first (if not THE first) really slim 2-wheel drive cars. I'm pretty sure it a least was the very first with a mid motor configuration. See more pics here:

And it's very solid & durable as well. Elvo on here made a very cool prototype, called the "ELCO Project". It as I understand was a basis for the later S2 he and Jonathan (Old Timer) developed together. He had great success with his proto vs. the common rear motor cars. Attachment 38632Attachment 38633 |
Before the chassis debate kicks off again....
The Centro was a collaborative project between CML and Atomic Carbon to bring a more refined S2 concept to the masses... if the carbon chassis was a deciding factor in the cars performance then it would be been included in the Centro. The aluminium chassis presents a slightly easier to drive car then the S2 at the expense of a bit of handling sharpness. This is why the carbon braces were produced, as more of a performance option then a 'chassis fix'. Its just a shame we seem to hear about the few unhappy customers rather then the majority of racers that are happy. After all if the aluminium chassis didn't work then it wouldnt of been used on another manufacturers 2wd:lol: |
