but i didnt think id have this much trouble

im going to remove all drivers for the printer again and try to download the driver one last time!!!!

Extreme 22-04-2008 09:48 AM

as usual it said you can just plug the keyboard in and go!!!

so i downloaded the driver from microsofts site for the keyboard and as one of you said, went into the control panel and changed everything to english/uk

how are you connecting them???? usb, ethernet or parrallel
If using ethernet make sure you clear the port aswell.

Extreme 22-04-2008 09:55 AM

printer is connected by usb

stegger 22-04-2008 10:11 AM

you have a pm

Southwell 22-04-2008 02:43 PM

go to: start, run, type services.msc. Find the print spooler and restart it, that 'should' clear the old job.

Try plugging the printer into another usb port and letting it install again, the error you are getting is the HP printer driver.

Give this a go: To resolve the issue, follow the steps below.

1. Right-click on My Computer, and select Properties.
2. Click on the Advanced tab.
3. Under Performance, click Settings.
4. Click the Data Execution Prevention tab.
5. Select the Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I
select: option.
6. Click Add....
7. Browse to C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\drivers\w32x86\3\hpzeng0 7.exe
and click Open.
8. Click Apply.
9. Click OK, and OK again.

Hi ian just tried that but it didnt find the hpzeng0 7.exe part????
had other ones but not that one:confused:

help!!

Southwell 24-04-2008 09:25 AM

Im guessing thats your problem then. Put in the CD and search for that file, put it in the folder and follow above.

If you cant find it, it is here: http://www.alexander.com/SymServe/hp...0/hpzeng07.exe

stegger 24-04-2008 09:30 AM

Southwell, He has the driver software in a folder on his desktop!! He'sput the software on his son's laptop and everything is o.k

Southwell 24-04-2008 09:39 AM

Then it's just that file missing. It is looking for it to get the job to the printer, not finding it and failing.
