Well another decent turn out last night with around 20 drivers on the track. Nice to see Buckle back helping keep the buggy heat going which ahs been strangely quiet the past few weeks, maybe down to a couple of drivers seeing the light switching back to TC’s ;-)
Hopefully a few more of the buggy’s back next week to give a bit more competition in that class.
Also don’t forget as we approach the end of the year, the AGM will be in January sometime at which point I’ll be stepping down as chairman so anyone else who fancies the job, give it some thought. I already have an idea of who I think will do the best job of it but it’s not my choice, first we need someone who is willing to do it and then for the club to vote them in!

See you all Monday

lazysurfer 21-11-2012 08:45 AM

Ok guys early warning of dates for your diary that we are NOT unning over the xmas period.
24th December and 31st December:D
I'm fairly sure none of you will be dissapointed at missing xmas eve and new years eve - any one who is - you need to get out more..........:p

lazysurfer 21-11-2012 08:48 AM

Also for any of you who don't get or don't read the emails, the AGM will be in January, probably the second or third week and I'll be stepping down as chairman so anyone who fancies running the club, give it some thought and start your election campaign:)

lazysurfer 22-11-2012 07:34 PM

No probs Haggis. One off visitors as welcome as anyone :-)

lazysurfer 23-11-2012 08:51 AM

Ok the weekly reminder to get sorted for racing on Monday - and a few more buggies would be nice for those who have been a little lonely in the buggy heat recently L
And hopefully so I don’t have to mention anything tomorrow, please, the issues from last week………….

See you all bright and early J 7pm

haggis 24-11-2012 10:52 PM

What tyres are most of the buggies running?

Yellow Schumacher Full Spikes front and rear are best on the polished wooden floor but Yellow Schumacher Mini Spikes front and rear will work just as well :)

slipdigby 25-11-2012 03:46 AM

I will be there on Monday with my buggy trying to keep up with the fast lads...
Was going to say most run the soft yellow Schumacher spikes but just got beat to that as well!!!!

Your up late!!!!

haggis 25-11-2012 02:03 PM

Got a set of knackered mini spikes and a set of mixed mini pins. Should be able to get a working set up.

See you all tomoro!!!!

lazysurfer 27-11-2012 08:58 AM

Well a little quiet last night with only 14 on track, maybe down to the weather and closed roads. 8TC’s and 7 buggies (yes I know that’s not 14 before some smart ar$e points it out - Boblet changed mid meet), including a one off visitor from north of the border. Nice to have you join us Haggis - hope you enjoyed the venue and racing.
Hope to see you all again next week

haggis 27-11-2012 12:21 PM

Last night was really good guys. Well organised and fantastic racing.

Hopefully I can get down again sometime!

lazysurfer 30-11-2012 08:40 AM

Running out of things to say to get you lot along racing on Mondays - get there for 7 and you can drool over the Zumba girls for the last 5 minutes of their class???

That’ll be Ray back then
See you all Mondayhttp://www.oople.com/forums/images/icons/icon12.gif

lazysurfer 04-12-2012 08:53 AM

A decent turn out again last night with 18 racing, 13 TC’s and 5 buggies. Obviously the buggy lads set out a lot of the track resulting in 3 jumps for a change!
Thanks to Clarky for giving a few driving hints to the TC lads. More Top Tips to come next week hopefully.
And the Zumba girls were finished on time for once - first time for everything - maybe they heard Ray was coming along early to watch :p
See you all next Monday
Mark

lazysurfer 10-12-2012 08:46 AM

Just a reminder of the weeks we're off over xmas - Monday 24th December and Monday 31st December - not that I would expect many to want to race those two nights anyway!!!:o

nobby 10-12-2012 10:12 AM

I would:woot:

furball85 11-12-2012 01:03 AM

i have purchased a touring car off one of the members that sold up couple months ago was wondering what gearing/motors you guys are using as already have mini pins both yellow and green, i have also purchased a durango 410r buggy and just wondering what gearing/motors your using as i know their usually higher turn will pop along next monday to have a look and a chat.

lazysurfer 11-12-2012 08:57 AM

A busy night again last night with 20 racing - 13 TC’s and 7 Buggies with Nev & Hindson returning to the dark side last night. Sad to hear that Luke is selling up after a bad week last week according to Steve. A bad week is no reason to give up, I’ve had about 2 months now since my car has been even drivable (Clarky spotted a problem with it last night so hopefully better next week) so get yourself back next week Luke and give it another go.
If not there’s an almost new B44 full setup with radio, li-po’s & charger ready to run up for grabs for anyone interested or anyone just starting out.

See you all next week for the last meeting of the year

Cheers

Not sure on gearing people use - motors are 13.5 or 10.5 brushless on TC's anything you like on buggies.

Hopefully see you next week - bring a car with you:)

furball85 11-12-2012 02:58 PM

i aint going to bring the car has santa is supposed to be nice and bring me eletrics what motor would you recommend for buggys to start with as never done them before

6.5 should be more than enough for 4wd.

furball85 11-12-2012 06:50 PM

okay but the only thing i need help on is a basic gearing to start with.

nobby 11-12-2012 09:24 PM

Pop along on Monday and we will try and help.

furball85 11-12-2012 10:47 PM

Cheers

If Lukes on here dont give up on a bad week or two, get along this Monday for a race. Im going and im usually one of the back markers for the fast buggy lads. Maybe a bit of competition at the back of the field?

lazysurfer 17-12-2012 08:58 AM

Ok lads just a reminder albeit a bit on the late side that racing is on 17th December but that we miss xmas eve and new years eve then are back on the 7th Jan - well you lot are, I'll be throwing myself down a mountain on a tea tray:)
And the week after will be the AGM at which point your subs become due and you need to find a new chairman (and it won't be me again:p) so everyone along to that meeting to have your say.
I'll probably post a report on tonights meet if I remember but a bit busy this week so just in case I forget - all the best for xmas and new year:cool:

I think for just starting out a 6.5 may be too much in a 4wd
i'd suggest a 10.5 or 8.5

lazysurfer 20-12-2012 06:48 PM

Ok a late report on this week, mainly down to me being off work and being too lazy to do it on my phone.
And because it’s late I cant remember how many were racing, 17 I think, 2 buggy heats of 4 & 5 and a busy TC heat of 8………….or something like that with Hindson running both since he’s not going to be able to make it back for a long while.
Good turn out for the week before xmas J
Only 2 finals with all the buggies in one due to there being very little difference in pace over the full field - suggested by a buggy driver before any of you on the dark site accuse me of favouritism!!!
Nice to have Paul Ferris make another return from being AWOL along with Campbell with a “P” tho Gary didn’t race but promises to come back.
A visit from Greg Natalie & Barry must mean universities have broken up for xmas and a possible new racer for next year in Ryan coming to watch - hope to see him back and on the track soon.
Unusual absentee was Steve Allan, hope you haven’t decided to join Luke on the ex-racers list L

Hi is this the RC club that used to be called Riverside Racers based at Longbenton? I'm possibly looking to climb into the loft and dust down my cars in the hope of fixing them up for use once again.....

That's right Richie, the very same club.

Touring Cars & Buggies.

richie. 27-12-2012 12:07 AM

good stuff I used to go there with my dad back in the 90's on a friday night! Is there a section on here displaying venues, dates and times so I can pop along for a look?

FastWheels 27-12-2012 12:19 AM

The first post in this thread should give you the info you require.

richie. 27-12-2012 12:29 AM

Thanks got that! Ive just sent off for a replacement front U shaft for the seemingly near impossible to find parts for Academy STR-4 Pro I have. So hopefully Ill get it repaired and bring it along! I also have my dads old Laser ZXR in a similar predicament

richie. 30-12-2012 09:40 PM

So Ive got the academy working having fitted a new front axle...... may drop by on the 7th and see what I need as most of my batteries have had it. hoping someone may glance at my kit and bring me upto date on what I need to get going again?

found these when I dragged my equipment down from the loft, ring any bells with you? mid 90's is my best guess lol!

Bit of history there. Sure someone will give you an update on 7th. AGM on 14th don't forget everyone. My last duties a chairman :-)

Ray Mac 01-01-2013 12:39 PM

Historic Riverside Racers.

Hi Richie, sorry your name rings no bells with me, I'll probably remember you when I see you on the 7th. I was at the Longhorsley meeting, along with Gary Armstrong who was flying with the aero club up there.
We are both still members of this club and welcome any previous old members back into the oldest RCC club in the area.
Looking forward to next Monday, see you then.

Ray Macaulay. Ray Mac.  :thumbsup:
